Emerging Kansas 2028s in Title Contention This Fall (Pt. 2)

Let's put a few more juniors on the board.   Postseason play beckons. Kansas' talent-stacked classes will vie for tournament titles, and we have so many championship contenders to cover over the next two-plus weeks. Of course, those teams will give us plenty of standout athletes to discuss, too.   And we're particularly interested in the Class of 2028. As mentioned in <a href="https://prepdig.com/2026/10/emerging-kansas-2028s-in-title-contention-this-fall-pt-1/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepdig.com/2026/10/emerging-kansas-2028s-in-title-contention-this-fall-pt-1/">Part 1</a> of this series, most 2028s are still seeking the right fit at the next level. The list of uncommitted, college-ready stars remains vast. The final weeks of the fall campaign are a perfect window to make a lasting impression--and perhaps hoist some trophies.   These juniors will have our attention as we peruse Kansas' seven classifications for some championship hopefuls.    We still have lingering memories of Olathe West's late-season trek to Omaha. This Class 6A contender put on a show in unfamiliar territory, and Morgan was there to provide the highlights. She exhibited tremendous pin-to-pin hustle while competing against some of the fastest prep offenses in the Midwest. Morgan is an incredibly effective blocking anchor in the middle, but she has also upped her attacking output en route to a triple-digit kill total. She hopes to expand her role as Olathe West spars with some of Kansas' big-city powerhouses to close out the 2026 campaign.     Let's linger in the frontcourt. St. Thomas Aquinas has reclaimed its familiar spot near the top of Class 5A's hierarchy, and Seals' growth has a lot to do with it. She has eclipsed two kills per set this fall and has done much of her damage on the right antenna. It's a departure from our club encounters with Seals, who has been a game-changing middle blocker in the [program_tooltip program_id='428889' first='Dynasty' last=''] gym. This multi-position influence has elevated Seals' stock ahead of a crucial late-season push for the Saints.     We couldn't miss this opportunity to revisit Hayden High's stat-stuffing setter. Walter has been a force in the Class 4A scene since she arrived as a freshman, as she's averaging over ten assists per set over her entire career. Ascending to upperclassman status this fall has not altered Walter's gun-slinging approach. She has fluid, snappy jump sets that can freeze opposing middles in in-system situations. Walter also sets against the flow when few are expecting it, allowing Hayden's entire frontcourt to flourish. Another state title pursuit will be nothing new for this decorated athlete.     We have a huge list of contenders to sort out at the top of the Class 3A ladder. Frontenac has made some moves in its 28-10 journey, with Shay providing invaluable continuity in the back row. She placed herself on our 2028 radar after posting over four digs per set as a sophomore. Shay has somehow managed to clear that bar and make it five. This fleet-footed libero will never hesitate to step into the campfire to cover tip shots, and her line defense has been similarly impenetrable. Keep Shay's name in mind as we prepare our next rankings overhaul.     Wabaunsee carries the banner in Class 2A for this feature. Wegele's steady ball control has helped the Chargers post a 28-9 record, and she's getting the job done in multiple phases. This junior is particularly persistent in the middle-back area, making quick reads and filling seams in the block. But aside from her ability to fill the dig column of the box score, Wegele's calm passing platform has set the table for one of 2A's most effective offenses.     The defending champs continue to dominate. Little River has surely had a target on its back yet again, but this Class 1A-D1 juggernaut has not wavered in 2026. The operation now revolves around Schubert, who seized the starting setter role this year and seemingly didn't need an adjustment period. She has piled up nearly 1,000 total assists this fall, and her teammates have capitalized on so many one-on-one chances. Schubert's experience as an attacker has also taught her how to be physical at the net, so Little River doesn't have to worry about two-hitter rotations.     Coleman is the true embodiment of a six-rotation star. We previously discussed her defensive prowess as she competed with Shockwave 161 on the club side. Coleman donned the libero jersey for that group and made incredible strides en route to an AAU Nationals breakout. However, this Argonia junior leverages her quick, whippy arm with the Raiders in addition to all the things she does defensively. Coleman has rapidly ascended Class 1A-DII's scoring charts, paving the way to a 31-4 mark.
