Of course, we had to include our top-ranked setter in the current rankings. Walter has put Topeka Saints on the map with her uncanny ability to command a team. This multi-sport star has already produced jaw-dropping numbers on the high school side. She debuted with Hayden High School in 2024 and immediately put up 10.5 assists per set. 2025 inched that average even higher. Walter doesn’t need perfect passing to put her terminators in ideal spots. Triple Crown NIT offered a perfect opportunity for Walter to guide her group of underdogs to a strong outing in Kansas City. MEQ is next.

Walter runs the offense for the Saints. In my opinion, she is one of the elite setters nationwide. She is ranked as the No. 1 setter in the Kansas Class of 2028 and No. 6 overall. She moves as a quick a lit fuse on a stick of dynamite. She can hit, block, serve, and play multiple sports. She has posted back-to-back seasons with more than 1,000 assists for the Hayden Wildcats.

Not that I need to see Walter or the Saints play ball this weekend, but it’s tough not to. It’s an elite roster filled with college-level prospects. Walter runs the offense for the Saints as she does for the Hayden Wildcats. She had already reached the 2,000 assist mark in just two prep seasons. She is a multi-sport athlete who had an impact on the basketball court in December. I have not seen Hayden play yet this winter, but one of their rivalry games is set to be my first basketball game of the season after the New Year. She is a bouncy setter and a quick point guard. She is the No. 2-ranked setter in the Kansas Class of 2028 and ranked No. 9 overall. The Saints will open their tournament against MAVS 816 at 8:00 a.m. in Pool F.

Walter is an athlete who has a smile wider than she is tall. She is a dynamic setter who has the chance to shatter multiple assist records in Kansas before her playing career concludes. Through 51 sets played this season, she has dished out 528 assists. She finished 1,043 assists as a freshman and is on pace to reach or eclipse that mark this season. She also has 157 digs, 32 kills, 15 aces, and six blocks for the Wildcats. She is another multi-sport talent who thrives on the basketball court and softball field. She is ranked No. 9 overall, after previously being ranked No. 6.

Walter continues to be the primary setter for Hayden. She had a standout season as a freshman and played well during the win over Wellsville. She had one of her better defensive efforts I have seen from her, finishing with five digs. The Wildcats’ offense was fighting it against the Eagles and never looked quite settled; however, she still tallied 16 assists in the win. She is ranked No. 6 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028 and is the top setter. She is a multiple-sport athlete who also plays prep and club basketball and softball.

Two athletes in this group stand out and are high on my list of athletes to watch. They both happen to be setters and are the top two-ranked setters in the Kansas Class of 2028. Hayden’s Walter is ranked No. 6 overall and is the top-ranked setter. She had an outstanding freshman season for Hayden and helped guide the Wildcats to the State Tournament. She is a multi-sport athlete who competes in basketball and softball. Not to put any pressure on her, but I want to see up close how her skills and the No. 2-ranked setter’s compare. I also keep waiting for her to show some wear and tear after competing in three sports over six seasons, but she always seems healthy, and I have never seen her give a “ho-hum” effort. She is one of my favorite athletes to watch, and it’s easy to catch a Hayden match.

The Topeka Saints finished in 3rd place in the 15U USA Tournament in Dallas, Texas, last week. The squad had two members named to the All-Tournament team. Walter is the team’s setter and runs the offense with accuracy and intensity. She heads into her sophomore season at Hayden as the Wildcats’ starting setter. She is ranked No. 6 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028 and is the No. 1-ranked setter in that class. She is a multi-sport athlete who also plays softball and basketball. If it weren’t for the one-week moratorium in Kansas this month, I am not sure she would take any time off. However, knowing her, she will find a court, a diamond, or just cage somewhere to put in work.

One key issue for the next power league event for 15s is that is also falls on the calendar along with Sub-State basketball. Walter is one of several athletes who could miss the event if their basketball squads are competing. Walter is a multi-sport prospect who recently posted a video of herself working on her softball pitching. I have talked about her with lots of coaches lately and I don’t know how she stays so busy. I hope I get to see her play in KC, but I expect Hayden to move forward in basketball.
