We've had several recent features on Kansas' Class of 2029, and there's a good reason for this focus, too. The ongoing high school season has already reshaped our perspective on the Kansas 2029 rankings. Our last refresh wasn't that long ago, but we already seem due for another overhaul. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, we'll keep covering as many standout athletes as we can while compiling the next wave of overhauls. Of all the 2029s that have captured our attention this fall, Kansas' up-and-coming setters have been particularly impactful. There's not a lot of room on varsity rosters for setters, but these stars have already broken through.

It's been a while since we've checked in on Morris, a multi-talented setter whose skills took Dynasty 14 Black to considerable heights this spring. She earned a spot on the GJNC podium in 14 Open this summer, making her mark as a setter and lockdown defender. Her setting prowess has taken precedence with Blue Valley Southwest, culminating in over nine assists per set. Those numbers only tell part of the story, as Morris' deceptive style frequently generates split-block opportunities for her hitters. Dynasty setters are always expected to command an up-tempo game, and Morris is quickly mastering that craft.

What can't Hargrove do? This Maize South sophomore was an incredible addition to our summer showcase, and her gun-slinging style has remained a big hit with the Mavericks. Hargrove's blend of quickness and athletcism allows her to thrive in many roles besides the signal-caller position. She has ample experience as a pin hitter and can switch to either pin in the front row. We're always drawn to her highlight tape with Shockwave 151, which highlighted Hargrove's balanced distribution en route to AAU Nationals. That high-level experience is paying off in a notoriously challenging Class 5A field.

Myers was an early entry on our 2029 watch list after helping pilot last year's Pratt offense. Now, she's embodying the mantra of "running the show" that we alluded to in the title. She has nearly doubled her assist output from last year, playing around the dial as Pratt's ball control anchor. Myers has a knack for leading her hitters into proper position to go around or through a double block. This precise location has become a hallmark of Myers' game as the Fighting Frogs look to leap up the Class 4A ladder.

We're now venturing into uncharted territory. Our desire to refresh the 2029 rankings isn't all about changing the hierarchy. We also have new names like Lanter soaring into the sophomore spotlight this fall. Lanter has dished out 8.7 assists per set for the Chargers and has been around the block as a three-sport athlete. That workload demands plenty of versatility and grit, which Lanter demonstrates every time she steps on the volleyball court. We've been most impressed by her willingness to grow as a wing blocker and give maximum effort at the tape. This isn't just a setting display.

Salina South gets on the board with its smooth, savvy signal-caller. Daily has amassed 7.2 assists per set this fall, putting her near the top of Kansas' stat leaderboards heading into mid-October. She has embraced her rapidly expanding role and is the kind of setter who will take the initiative on 50-50 balls. Daily's off-blocker work helps keep rallies alive, and she remains an active part of Salina South's coverage on out-of-system swings. Those instincts make Daily a well-rounded ball control contributor whose success isn't limited to setting.

This feature has discussed several setters who can do a little of everything, so we might as well close out with one more. Carr earned plenty of starting experience with St. John's/Tipton last fall, allowing her to develop into an even greater weapon in Year 2. She has upped her season average to over seven assists per set while providing an ever-expanding physical presence in the front row. Carr is not afraid to square up against opposing left-side hitters, and her outstanding defense also extends to the right-back area. We wouldn't expect anything less from a Manhattan Mayhem standout after the club enjoyed some of its greatest all-around triumphs this spring.
