That has been the story of her senior season. She leads all Texas seniors with 611 kills through 119 sets and is finishing 45.8 percent of her swings. The Utah commit is quick off the floor with an arm that comes through the ball in a hurry. A big last step lets her open her hips early, so she can split the seam or turn the ball sharp to the angle. When a big block shows up she stays patient and goes high hands to reset the rally. Her hitting percentage has climbed every year since she was a freshman. Last fall she went over 700 kills and earned District 17-5A Offensive MVP along with TGCA All-State honors. She now has more than 2,400 career kills and stays on the floor in all six rotations. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

Ask Emerson about [player_tooltip player_id='831088' first='Samantha' last='Everidge']. Nights like those are why she ranks second among Texas seniors with 610 kills at 5.6 per set. Two years ago she was averaging 1.3 kills per set. Her growth since then has been remarkable and her hitting percentage has gone up every season right along with her volume. She loads her arm early and swings high through the ball, which lets her hit over smaller blocks. On tight sets she reads the setter and adjusts her approach instead of forcing it. Everidge also plays basketball and moves like it in transition. She passed 1,000 career kills in the first month of her senior season and is still trending up. That approach has produced 592 kills through 126 sets, the third most among Texas seniors. She led the entire Dallas Fort Worth area in kills earlier this fall. Teams have built their game plans around stopping her and she has still stayed near five kills a set. She is smart off the block on tight sets and rarely gives away a cheap point. Her serve is a weapon too and she dropped six aces in a sweep of Burkburnett. None of this is new. The high school volleyball season has been phenomenal so far this year and the following players have proven themselves with consistency and tenacity at the net. No one has been able to slow these senior attackers down. Texas is arguably one of the best offensive states in the nation and if you are leading the thousands of players here, that says a lot. Let's take a look at the following senior kill leaders from the Lone Star State.
