Making It Out of Pool Play: 16s Ed.

<p>I think it's safe to say the class of 2028 is our most competitive this club season. Wrapping up day 2 of pool play at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships, and these Texas teams are not making it easy on the competition. With 28 teams competing in Open and USA divisions, 16 have made it out on top of their pools and continue on in the fight for gold. It's tough covering this much volleyball in 2 days, so stick around for more on our 16u girlies, they're just getting started.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">16 Open</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='482109' first='Sydney' last='Whisenton'], no stranger to the Volleyball court, and a dynamic edition to Alamo 16 Premier this season. She has come out alongside her team, with a fierce pool play presence. Showcasing her hang time as she elevates above blocks with ease, and swings to kill. While she starts off the game scoring big points for her team, she rotates to the back court and rounds out her play with beautiful assists. A quick swing, followed by quick hands to set her teammates, is a true force to reckon with across the net from Alamo 16 Premier. A well rounded player like Sydney, will no doubt be putting on a show all week. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='724645' first='Macie' last='Chase'], one of the smoothest setters to see going into play this week, getting the job done for HJV 16 Elite. Her game is all about timing, and she has got it down. Her hands a clean and quick, running a high tempo game at he net, moving her hitters around the defense well. When the ball isn't in her hands, she is a defensive queen, not afraid to make the play and trust her teammates to take the 2 ball and end the rally. a setter with good defense!? Watch out Open division, HJV means business with Macie on the court.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Mary Crutcher, a phenomenal 6 rotation outside hitter for TAV 16 Black. The impressive plays do not stop when she is on the court. Defensively she can read the ball and move well to keep plays alive. There is no hesitation when she reacts to her read, transitioning smooth and keeping the ball in front. At the net..wow! Mary-Christine commits to her swing and shows off her athleticism by putting the ball down immediately. A big strong swing in a six rotation player is sure to do damage, and there is no doubt she intends to do so.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">16 USA</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Outside hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='663295' first='Addyson' last='Jeffers'], for HJV 16 Premier is on a mission coming out of pool play. Playing with all the energy and all the effort to keep her team ahead in every game. She swing big and she swings hard every ball that comes her way. Addyson fights to keep the play alive, willing to do whatever it takes to score. She matches her energy with a big block defensively, rounding out her play on both sides of the ball.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='726421' first='Mylee' last='Trevino'], no stranger to our radar or the volleyball court. Fighting alongside her teammates with NRG 16 AMPD Navy, Mylee is bringing it all to the court. A 6 rotation outside that is not afraid to dig a ball or swing big past a block, she serves as a big asset to her team. She is strategic in her play and makes the smart plays to keep her team ahead. Her IQ and abilities make her a threat from anywhere on the court, expanding her teams scoring options and keeping defenders honest, NRG is here to play!</p>
