Our last dip into the UTR pool has us looking at the smallest of schools. You can't get much more under the radar than the 1As, even though there is plenty of volleyball talent to go around here in the Hoosier State. Here are five athletes from around Indiana's top 1A programs that aren't receiving as much publicity as they should.

Braelynn is a big (5'11”) and physical middle from 15-2 Morgan Township High School out of Valparaiso, Indiana. Her general size and strength stand out on any 1A program, and Miss Dudzik's ability to get hitters to change their minds going against her has induced more hitting errors that stats she can add to her own accolades. With her size and volleyball acuity, the Cherokees are more than ready to make a deep run in the northern half of the 1A draw when October comes around.

Speaking of size, Myra is a 6'1” intimidating middle from Greenwood Christian Academy that leads by example. The 13-4 Cougars have an impressive resume of wins, and Myra's basketball-first mentality—-exceptional at fronting hitters and blocking them relentlessly—-is a major reason for GCA's exceptional season thus far. Add in the 2 kills per set and hitting about .300 this fall, and you can see why the Cougars will be a tough out when mid-October comes around.

Yes, you read that correctly. She's a setter AND an outside for the 14-4 Braves. In the back row, she'll run the modified 6-2 offense to a quicker-than-average tempo, with accuracy for her hitters that almost looks like telepathy. As an attacker, she's at 3+ kills per set while hitting .300 on the season, and can even help out on floor defense, averaging 4 digs per set. With her hand in a little of everything—-the Marx way—-there's no doubt that Tecumseh has a serious chance at making it to Gainbridge in November.

From western Indiana, Reagan is a primary passing FRESHMAN who averages 3+ kills per set while hitting over .300 for the Trojans. That's a lot to ask an outside hitter, let alone one as young as she. No matter; the athletic maturity and volleyball IQ is off the charts with this one, and will be needed even more so as the Trojans look to extend their season beyond October. The 18-3 record they currently carry is one of the best in recent memory, and Reagan's a big part of that success.

It's hard for me to call a Munciana kid “under the radar”. However, the #1 1A squad in the state at the moment has a kid that's currently playing out of her natural position. I've seen Miss Crabtree as a setter this whole time. What I didn't know is her level of ball control is so good that she acts as the libero for the 15-3 Saints. Playing one of the toughest schedules in 1A, Reagan's leadership, maturity and all-around solid volleyball skills will carry this program deep into October.
