2021 Rankings: Uncommitted Athletes to See

<p>The class of 2021 rankings were recently updated with some deserved movement for a handful of prospects. Here are some notable uncommitted athletes to keep an eye on.</p> <p><strong>#6 [player_tooltip player_id="57498" first="Megan" last="Reilly"] | Northfield</strong><br /> Reilly has steadily grown her presence and prowess offensively over the last 12-18 months. She has a fast arm and can terminate with great pace and authority. She should be Northfield’s top option at the net. She brings confidence and range to compliment her power. Northfield should be in the mix for a state tournament berth.</p> <p><strong>#19 [player_tooltip player_id="58104" first="Claire" last="Vekich"] | Greenway</strong><br /> An all-state selection a year ago, Vekich helped propel Greenway to the state tournament. She has good versatility in her abilty to score from anywhere. She elevates well and can get the ball on the defense in a hurry. Her competitiveness if infectious as her Greenway teammates provided good support around here a season ago. Her play from last fall helped raise her stock in the current rankings as she made a big jump. Look for them to get back to state during the upcoming season.</p> <p><strong>#30 [player_tooltip player_id="72078" first="Claire" last="Walsh"] | Grand Rapids</strong><br /> Walsh has great all-around skills as a passer, defender, and attacker. She could fulfill any of these roles well at the next level. She has great platform skills to match her vision and mobility to pursue the ball with good range. Walsh also brings a nice arm at the net with good control and movement.</p> <p><strong>#33 [player_tooltip player_id="71956" first="Toryn" last="Richards"] | Waterville-Elysian-Morristown</strong><br /> Richards is an athlete. She gets off the floor well and can score from a variety of attack points across the net. She also has good quickness to defend as a blocker and in the back row while also providing steady ball control as a primary passer. An all-state first-team selection in 2019 she should have her squad among the top ranked class 1A teams and in the mix for a return trip to the state tournament.</p> <p><strong>#56 [player_tooltip player_id="58036" first="Sydney" last="Petersen"] | Centennial</strong><br /> A 2019 all-conference selection, Peterson has fast arm and a scorer’s mentality. She gets her feet to the ball well and uses her torque well to create good pace on the ball. She will be Centennial’s top offensive option and should score a lot of points this next season. Centennial has some good pieces returning and should apply a lot of pressure on their opponents, led by Peterson’s aggressive style of play.</p> <p><strong>#72 [player_tooltip player_id="71968" first="Haley" last="Muenchow"] | Russel-Tyler-Ruthton</strong><br /> A Camden all-conference selection, Muenchow has good feel for the game offensively and she moves well and has good awareness of what the defense is doing in front of her when she is swinging. She has good arm speed and control to be able to attack a variety of zones across the net. With ability to score on the pins and in the middle, she can also pass and play defense with good range and platform skills.</p> <p><strong>#89 [player_tooltip player_id="72080" first="Kylie" last="Pittman"] | Waterville-Elysian-Morristown</strong><br /> Pittman helps create one of the best outside hitter tandems in class 1A along with teammate Richards for WEM. She is athletic, jumps well, and can score with an aggressive arm. She does a lot for WEM with her passing, defense, and pressure from the service line. They made a great run in the 2019 postseason and could likely be there on the final weekend again this next season.</p>
