The best week of the year in Iowa high school volleyball has arrived with the four-day state tournament tipping off on Monday.

Stay with Prep Dig Iowa for intense coverage of the annual event. Keep an eye on the socials and the site for continuous content during and after it.

Before getting underway, let's prepare. No better way to do that than by sparking discussion with previews and predictions for each class.

Today, we take a closer look at how the 2A field shapes up:

OVERVIEW

Denver is the only team at this year's state tournament with an opportunity to three-peat. The Cyclones will have to earn it as the No. 6 seed with a lot of new faces in the lineup, but the 2A field feels more wide open and ripe for upsets this year than the three larger classes above it.

Hinton enters the action as the top seed after reaching the title match as year ago. The Blackhawks are worthy favorites, As mentioned, it's a deep field of teams capable of creating chaos, however. Second-seeded Grundy Center can win it all after reaching last year's semifinals. The same can be said for Beckman Catholic, Union Community and Riverside. Denver, Aplington-Parkersburg and Hudson are really good 6-8 seeds. It will be fun watching this bracket unfold.

PREDICTIONS

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Hinton - [player_tooltip player_id='902980' first='Addy' last='Ortegren'] , [player_tooltip player_id='769009' first='Ellie' last='Friessen'] , [player_tooltip player_id='891592' first='Macie' last='Charlson'] , [player_tooltip player_id='902966' first='Addison' last='Dunkel'] , Brynlee Boeve, [player_tooltip player_id='839027' first='Taylor' last='Derocher'].

Grundy Center - [player_tooltip player_id='891599' first='Charlee' last='Kirkpatrick'] , [player_tooltip player_id='702527' first='Ryanne' last='Brubaker'] , [player_tooltip player_id='902985' first='Jenna' last='Blythe'] , [player_tooltip player_id='839302' first='Trinity' last='Jirovsky'] , [player_tooltip player_id='797808' first='Raelyn' last='Steinmeyer'] , Ava Mundt.

Beckman Catholic - Isabel Kluesner, [player_tooltip player_id='791383' first='Joy' last='Burkle'], [player_tooltip player_id='955468' first='Jaylin' last='Burkle'], Addie Koelker, [player_tooltip player_id='555781' first='Addisson' last='Hogan'], Taylor Luensmann.

Riverside - [player_tooltip player_id='790364' first='Ashley' last='Kelley'], Lilli Reed, [player_tooltip player_id='913846' first='Sydney' last='Somers'], Vivian Gross, [player_tooltip player_id='913845' first='Sophia' last='Fenner'], [player_tooltip player_id='940639' first='Dakota' last='Somers'].

Union Community - [player_tooltip player_id='830328' first='Bianca' last='Grimm'], [player_tooltip player_id='754886' first='Taylen' last='Smith'], [player_tooltip player_id='730396' first='Caitlyn' last='Schneider'], [player_tooltip player_id='789782' first='Hinley' last='Mast'], Chloe Sadler, [player_tooltip player_id='760863' first='Laikyn' last='Ewoldt'].

Denver - [player_tooltip player_id='755663' first='Adeana' last='Murch'], [player_tooltip player_id='739138' first='Mackenzie' last='McEwan'], [player_tooltip player_id='965637' first='Mya' last='Herrmann'], [player_tooltip player_id='1002745' first='Brehanna' last='Murch'], [player_tooltip player_id='1003009' first='Lucy' last='Murch'], [player_tooltip player_id='773089' first='Aubrey' last='Roethler'].

Aplington-Parkersburg - [player_tooltip player_id='934818' first='Jenzen' last='Klooster'] , [player_tooltip player_id='763037' first='Adri' last='Allan'] , [player_tooltip player_id='827792' first='Shelby' last='Arkulari'] , Kiara Morris, Kennedy Kalkwarf, Brylie Wangsness.

Hudson - [player_tooltip player_id='889843' first='Paige' last='Davis'] , [player_tooltip player_id='754872' first='Natalie' last='Rausch'] , [player_tooltip player_id='845682' first='Kaleigh' last='Leary'] , [player_tooltip player_id='798807' first='Siri' last='Olsen'] , Taylor Davis, Kaelyn Wolfe.
