The Three Stars of the Match
OH, Morgan Meier, 5’6” – Meier has the biggest upside on the Hutchinson roster. She is a solid two-way player. The senior finished with 13 digs and seven kills against Maize. She could be an NAIA or Juco recruit.
OH, Maliyah Johnson, 5’10” – Johnson was all over the court on Saturday. Hutchinson does not substitute often and Johnson played the entirety of all three matches. Against the Maize Eagles, Johnson tallied 21 digs, five kills, and two blocks. The senior is a solid JUCO recruit.
MH, Coleen Page Coleen Page 5'9" | MB Hutchinson | 2021 State KS , 5’8” (’21 Ranked No. 141) – Page found herself included in the initial Prep Dig Kansas ranking for the Class of 2021. She led Hutchinson with three blocks in the 23-25, 26-24, 14-25 loss to Maize. It was not her best match of the early season, but she is also an athlete who will gain attention from JUCO programs.
Hutchinson defeated Kapaun 27-25, 25-20 in their opening match, and they were upset by Valley Center 25-14, 21-25, 23-25 in the final match of the day.
