Class of ’23: Tall Timbers

<p>With the release of the initial Class of 2023 Prep Dig Kansas player rankings, there are players from five-foot-one all the way to six-foot-four.</p> <p>Here are five players, six-foot or taller, to watch play from the class of 2023 who can also jump and are solid net players.</p> <p><strong>MH, [player_tooltip player_id="120011" first="Avery" last="Lowe"], 6’2”, Maize South (Ranked No. 10)</strong> – Lowe is a young hitter who should be watched closely. The Maize South middle hitter finished her sophomore campaign with 145 kills and 79 blocks. She is competing for the Air Capital Aces in club ball this season.</p> <p><strong>S, [player_tooltip player_id="120034" first="Braylie" last="Bogle"], 6’0”, Wichita Northwest (Ranked No. 12) </strong>– Bogle is a six-foot setter which makes her highly recruitable. She also plays for Air Capital Aces. The Wichita Northwest senior is expected to have a big 2021 during the club season and for the Grizzlies.</p> <p><strong>MH, [player_tooltip player_id="120013" first="Kacie" last="Akers"], 6’1”</strong>, <strong>Rural Vista (Ranked No. 31) </strong> – Akers has a powerful athletic frame. She has a compact swing. Even though she plays for a Class 1A team, Akers will warrant multiple looks from college recruiters. She finished the 2020 season with 172 kills and 35 blocks.</p> <p><strong>MH, [player_tooltip player_id="120015" first="Ava" last="Jones"], 6’2”</strong>, <strong>Nickerson (Ranked No. 34)</strong>– The Nickerson Panthers have a tall middle hitter who enjoys crushing the ball. Jones finished her sophomore season with 227 kills and 49 blocks.</p> <p><strong>MH, [player_tooltip player_id="122211" first="Rian" last="Zimbal"], 6’0”, St. Francis (Ranked No. 41)</strong> – Another small school talent resides in St. Francis. The Indians’ middle hitter finished the 2020 high school season with 66 blocks and 161 kills.</p>
