6A Top Performers (Week 4)

Week four of high school play has come to a close so now it is time to spotlight some players who did BIG things as a top performer for their team. Although trained as a libero most of her career, she has been setting a 6-2, alongside 2021 sister [player_tooltip player_id="91118" first="Zoe" last="Nguyen"], for the Blues. While her assists stats have not been recorded, it is safe to say she would have a good number of them. Assists aside, in their match against Canby alone she racked up 15 digs and served a perfect game, with 11 attempts, 2 aces, and 0 errors. The Blues are currently 1-7. In their match versus Canby she totalled up 4 blocks and hit a .800, with 10 attempts, 8 kills, and 0 errors. In her matches last week she hit a .333, with 27 attempts, 12 kills and only 3 errors. She also racked up 4 blocks. So Williams has taken this season to figure out other ways to succeed on the court, aside from setting. Last week she saw court time as a right side attacker and did not disappoint. She hit a .385 with 13 attempts, 6 kills and only 1 error. In that match alone she hit a .643 with 28 attempts, 19 kills, and only 1 error. She also passed a 2.6. In their match versus Tualatin she hit a .429 with 21 attempts, 12 kills, and 3 errors. In the Lions match against Tualatin she racked up 10 digs. In last week’s match versus Tualatin she hit a .400 with 10 attempts, 5 kills and only 1 error. Volleyball Club, Emerson College The South Eugene High School Axes look to senior all-around outside attacker Combs to put the ball away. In last week’s matches alone she racked up 50 kills. She also had 46 digs, 2 blocks and 4 service aces. In their matches last week she really showcased her versatility, racking up 47 assists, 43 digs, 14 kills, 10 blocks, and 2 aces. The Axes are currently 5-2.
