Top Clubs in 2022 Part 2

<p>2022 has been a great season! For most teams, this season has come to a close following the regional tournament. For a few select teams, they earned a bid to the national championships in Indianapolis this summer. This year we saw a ton of growth from clubs and players alike. We continue to move the game of volleyball forward here in the state of Oklahoma. Let’s take a look at some of the top clubs from all across the state.</p> <p><em>TOP CLUBS</em></p> <p><strong>Rise Volleyball Club- </strong>Based out of Edmond, this club has 6 teams ranging from 14s-18s. They typically don’t have any 2’s level teams, but this year they had a 15-2 team that competed and competed well. Rise 14-1 had a great season, finishing 6th in the state nationally. They also only had one loss at regionals to UPVBC 14 Open, who went on to win 1st, and finished 3rd place, which earned them a national bid. Rise 15-1 and 15-2 both finished tied for 9th after 15-1 lost in pool play to UPVBC Mint, which pitted them against a tough UPVBC Pink team, while 15-2 lost to Virago 15-1 in the first round of bracket play after beating them the previous day in pool play. Rise 16-1 also finished top 10 in the state and finished tied for 7th at regionals. Rise 17-1 finished tied for 9th. Rise has some really solid players throughout the program, such as Chesnie Caudill, [player_tooltip player_id="176370" first="Taya" last="McReynolds"], and [player_tooltip player_id="176368" first="Kyleigh" last="Whitehead"]. They will continue to put out top 10 quality teams next season. </p> <p><strong>Tulsa Power Volleyball Club- </strong>Based out of Tulsa, this club is in its first year after branching off from the Club ONE and UPVBC merger. They immediately put some quality teams together and competed at a high level, centered around the 15-1 team led by former ORU head coach, Sheera Sirola. This team went on to win the Nike Mideast Qualifier and punched their ticket to nationals. They also traveled to KC, Florida, and St. Louis to play in top-tier tournaments. They are currently ranked #30 in the nation at this age. They have some absolute studs on this team, with players like Kyndal Carolina, Juliana Borchers, [player_tooltip player_id="156869" first="Kynli" last="Kirkendoll"], and Lauren Harms that will all likely be starting varsity for their top notch high schools. Then you have the most impressive 8th grader you will find in Oklahoma in Arriana Brown. She is actually playing up, as her teammates are 9th graders. Wherever she lands to play high school will automatically move up the rankings. Other players like [player_tooltip player_id="145974" first="Layla" last="Lenex"] and Ally Thompson are solid players within the program. The 14-1 Also qualified for nationals behind a 39-11 season. 17-1 also had a really solid season finishing ranked 7th in the state. </p> <p><strong>Virago Volleyball Club- </strong>Based out of Sapulpa, this is very young club as well. They took a huge leap this club season as a whole. Last season, they had a team or two that was solid, but this year multiple teams finishing in the top 10 at regionals. Virago 12-1, 14-1, 15-1, 16-1 and 18-1 all finished top 10. Virago 14-1 finished with a 41-13 record, which set a club record for wins in a season. Virago 15-1 finished with a record of 38-16 and tied for 7th at regionals. Virago 16-1 finished with a 34-15 record and ranked 8th in Oklahoma.  They have some up and coming players in Hannah McKelvey, [player_tooltip player_id="145965" first="Olivia" last="Dewitt"], Lucy Ridener and Baylee Belt. Look for them and TPV to continue to grow and push the east side higher in the rankings. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>These clubs have quality coaching that have helped these athletes compete with some of the best in Oklahoma.
