Mahorn is sound in many different ways for the Yellow Jackets. Mahorn delivers kills in different ways. That includes soft shots toward the line near the net. She sees defenses then makes adjustments in the air to put them down. Mahorn is a versatile player that makes crisp passes, blocks hard shots or at keeps them alive with touches and even has big aces. Mahorn constantly keeps her teammates motivated both vocally and through her play. Mahorn said remembering she’s part of a family has helped her not be so hard on herself when she makes a mistake. Mahorn came into Friday leading Woodford County with 290 kills to go with 151 digs, 36 aces and 13 solo blocks.

Mahorn dressed for Woodford County as an eighth grader then made an impact as a freshman. Mahorn’s stock continued to rise with a solid sophomore season for the Yellow Jackets. She is hard to defend because it is hard to tell whether she will smack or tip the ball until the last second. Mahorn rises up and tries to make things happen at the peak of her jumps. Mahorn can smack it to the back row or tip it just behind blockers. Mahorn can even take things off her spikes to deflect balls hard off blockers. Mahorn had 332 kills, 36 solo blocks, 306 digs and 52 aces helping Woodford County to a 25-7 record with a 30th District championship last fall.

Mahorn shows a lot of excitement out on the volleyball court. Mahorn is quickly becoming one of the more versatile players in the 8th Region. Makes nice adjustments to sets on hitting attempts. Places the ball well down the line on serves. Led Woodford County with 332 kills and finished second with 52 aces helping the Yellow Jackets to a 25-7 record and fifth straight 30th District championship.
