The Class of 2025 is first in the spotlight, and we’re heading into quite a consequential season for this group. With the open recruitment of 2025s quickly approaching this summer, there’s little doubt that we’ll be spending time with these 16s in 2023.
Let’s get you primed with a few under-the-radar athletes to follow from the Cornhusker State.
Rasmussen will compete on VCN’s 16 Elite squad this year and brings some seriously physicality in the frontcourt. She has already shown the versatility to play opposite or middle blocker, making Rasmussen a great asset in 16 Elite’s offense.

Reistma is set to represent Premier 16 Red this spring and brings a full attacking repertoire to the team’s frontcourt. She has experience on either pin and also adds some tremendous value to the back row whenever needed.
Premier 16 Black is the next stop for Levinson on her club journey. The Gretna athlete has the length and physicality to slot in at opposite or middle blocker, so I’m anxious to see where Levinson ends up in 2023. Either way, her Premier squad has a chance to make some serious noise at several of the venues I’ll visit this year.
Baker already made waves last fall when she joined Millard West and made a big impact at the middle blocker spot. I’d expect her to do the same with Nebraska Elite 16 Maverick, especially after Baker’s standout performance at our Nebraska Top 250 Expo in December.
Time to bring Nebraska Juniors into the mix. Meister is poised to be a do-everything player for 16 Black this year, as she already showed some of her pin attacking prowess with Nebraska Elite last year. A change of scenery won’t slow down this six-rotation outside hitter.

After carrying a vital role with Elkhorn last fall, Fast is heading back to the River City Jrs gym to represent its 16 Navy squad. Fast runs a smooth, accurate offense, but that’s not the only thing she’s known for. This setter will lock down the right-back area in River City’s three-hitter rotations and shows her fearless attitude through that floor defense.
The Hofer name will become synonymous with gritty floor defense, from the Fremont High School program to Club Legacy in the club season. This spring will provide a valuable glimpse at this up-and-coming defensive specialist as she locks down her team’s end line.
Carlstrom is another athlete who captured our attention through her work in the high school season and, later, at our December showcase event in La Vista. This is our first South Central club entry in this feature, and we’re bound to learn a lot more about this group in the coming months.

We’re wrapping up this feature with another impactful backcourt specialist who will represent VCNebraska in 2023. Ott has dazzled us with her defensive skills before, and she will likely accomplish a similar feat this year with a 16 Elite team that will be fascinating to follow.
