Sam was on fire this weekend. She was explosive on offense and had some massive kills. She also put up some amazing blocks. Sam elevated the level of her team every time she was on the court. She impressed me in her discipline and efficiency on both offense and defense.
Kyla packed a punch this weekend. She helped her FC Elite 18 Elite team to a championship at the qualifier and earn a National Division bid. Kyla’s block was nearly impenetrable. Her form was consistent and she found ways to add value on every single play.
Emma was impressive to watch this weekend. She had momentum-changing plays, put up a massive block, and was reliable in tight matches. Emma found ways to earn points even against big blocks and talented defenses.
Emily committed to play for North Dakota State University over the weekend, and she proved just how high-level of a setter she is throughout the weekend. No team got more than 15 points on them, and a huge part of their success was how Emily ran the court. She plays a 5-1, and with her at the helm, the court runs like a well-oiled machine.
Adeline was nearly unstoppable at the qualifier. She had some truly incredible kills. Adeline’s discipline and speed set her apart. She closes nearly every block and reads opposing setters well. She has a quick, springy approach and a lightning-fast arm swing that helps her out-pace most opposing blockers and defenses.
Morgan set a 5-1 for Madtown Juniors and did an excellent job. She has a quick touch on the ball and utilizes all of her hitters on the court. Morgan is an aggressive setter who keeps opposing blockers on their toes. She is not afraid to go up and attack or throw a well-placed tip over the net.
Gabby played tough at the Badger Region Qualifier. She was explosive, impactful, and gritty on the court. Gabby was a key player on offense and utilized every contact she got to help bring her team to the next level. Gabby is a talented athlete in this class, taking every opportunity to elevate her game.
Highlights
Ally impressed me with her grit and fearlessness on the court. She got in front of every ball and seemed all over the court on defense. She never let a ball drop without a fight and kept her team in tough matches. Her serve receive was also impressive.
Peyton really impressed at the qualifier. She is playing up three age divisions on one of the top 18s teams in the country. As a libero, she is consistent and disciplined. Not much gets past her, and she plays with incredible maturity. Peyton has an insanely high volleyball IQ. You would never know she is younger than every other athlete on the court.
Olivia is another pin-turned-libero, and wow, was it a great move for her. I loved her as a 6-rotation outside, but she takes her team to new heights as a libero. Olivia can play out of the middle or left-back. Her calm and collected demeanor in the back row and natural leadership skills make her a player you want on the court as much as possible.
Highlights
Emerson is a high-level setter that moves the ball around quickly and efficiently. She has a clean touch on the ball and keeps all of her hitters engaged on the court. She is gritty and confident on the court and has a ton of experience playing at a high level.
Olivia only continues to impress. She is a force in the back row and catches my eye whenever I see her play. She plays stud-level defense and has a clean platform on serve receive. She helped DSHA win a state title this past fall and it shows in her natural confidence and leadership on the court.
Melia is a powerhouse pin who dominates on the court. She has an explosive approach, and when she has an open net, you can literally hear the snap of her wrist on the ball and the resulting “thump.” She also puts up a massive block and makes momentum-changing plays throughout matches to energize her team.
Highlights
Eva is an incredibly athletic middle. She moves across the court with power and explosive movement. She is engaged on every point and always finds ways to be available on offense. Eva has a powerful swing and heavy hand on the ball but also a nice touch when a tip would be effective. She chooses her shots wisely and has a high hitting efficiency as a result.
Morgan is an energizer and impact player on the court. She never gives up on a play and will fight for her team whenever the ball comes over the net. Morgan takes big swings and earns big kills. She can play on either pin and levels up her game every time I see her play.
Highlights
There is no slowing Sylvie down. She is explosive on offense, scrappy on defense, and controlled on serve receive. Sylvie is the whole package and executes every time she gets the ball. Sylvie is a go-to hitter on her team in both the front and back row.
Andi is an athlete that never fails to catch my eye at tournaments. She plays clean, high-level volleyball as both a setter and right side. Her volleyball IQ and court awareness are next level and she has been a top athlete in her class from the start. She is a key player on the 608 Juniors 18-1 team and is playing up an age division.
Mariah is an incredibly talented athlete. She sees the court well and seems to know her opponent’s weaknesses. She plays smart and savvy. Mariah is an athlete who is hard to take off the court because she is a leader, energizer, and impactful player. As a setter, she runs the offense like a well-oiled machine.
Annalise went off this weekend. She looks better and better every time I see her play. She is a high-flying six-rotation pin with huge power. During the semi-final match, her offense went to new levels. She was consistently pounding balls just past the 10-foot line. Annalise was also key in serve receive and defense.
Highlights
The way Lexi plays is so fun to watch. She is incredibly competitive and very athletic. Lexi is talented as a setter and right side. Honestly, you could probably put her nearly anywhere on the court, and she could play at a high level. She is gritty and never gives up on a play.
