We talk about how these players are heading to the next level but let's talk about which schools are going to be getting some of the best players from Minnesota.

University of Minnesota

Minnesota always seems to snag the top players in the state and I love the fact that they always recruit AT LEAST 1 big recruit from their own state. For the class of 2023, that is [player_tooltip player_id='73491' first='Sydney' last='Schnichels']. She's already on campus and training with the team and it won't be long before you see Schnichels along with [player_tooltip player_id='99224' first='Calissa' last='Minatee'] (Missouri) gearing up for their first fall with the Gophers. Not too far behind them will be [player_tooltip player_id='107264' first='Stella' last='Swenson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='107898' first='Olivia' last='Swenson'], twins from Minnesota who are likely quite familiar with the Gophers after their older sister Samantha Seliger-Swenson (Loepkky) was a staple in the offense for many years.

Michigan State

Michigan State is bringing in a trio of freshmen that includes Minnesota's top 2023 setter, [player_tooltip player_id='166353' first='Cameron' last='Berger']. She will be joined by 6'2 Outside Hitter, Taylah Holdem from New Zealand, and Georgia's 6'5 Middle Blocker, Kaya Hood. This could be a game-changing group for the Spartan program.

Oregon

[player_tooltip player_id='73495' first='Kate' last='Thibault'] is heading to a red-hot Oregon. They pushed deep into the tournament last year and it's an exciting time to head west! Thibault will be joined by 6'2 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='201009' first='Alex' last='Acevedo'] (Oregon), 5'11 Setter, [player_tooltip player_id='251232' first='Cristin' last='Cline'] (North Carolina), 6'1 Right Side Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='161450' first='Noemie' last='Glover'] (California), 6'2 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='91306' first='Sophie' last='Gregoire-Salagean'] (Oregon), 6'3 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='141140' first='Becca' last='Kelley'] (Texas), and 5'10 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='91316' first='Isabel' last='Patterson'] (Oregon).

Tennessee

[player_tooltip player_id='73475' first='Sydney' last='Jaynes'] will be part of a pair of outside hitters heading to Tennessee for the 2023 fall. Jaynes had a stellar season for Northfield and a great career with Northern Lights. She will join the volunteers along with Texas' 6'0 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='87537' first='Mackenzie' last='Plante']. They will be joined in 2024 by 6'2 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='365818' first='Paityn' last='Chapman'] (Colorado), 6'1 Setter, [player_tooltip player_id='150065' first='Camdyn' last='Stucky'] (Kansas), and 6'4 Middle Blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='359351' first='Chelsea' last='Sutton'] (Florida).

Villanova

[player_tooltip player_id='86643' first='Annika' last='Veurink'] is warming up for Villanova with her MN Select 18-1s team. She will step on campus with 5'10 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='246279' first='Abby' last='Harrell'] (Washington). In 2024 they will be joined by Indiana's 6'1 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='110490' first='Taylor' last='Lewis'], and 5'11 Outside Hitter and Texas native, [player_tooltip player_id='142211' first='Catherine' last='Young'].

South Dakota State University

Brookings will be welcoming a trio of Prep Diggers in the 2023 class including 6'2 Middle Blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='73484' first='McKenna' last='Moehrle'], 5'10 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='108433' first='Stella' last='Winterfeld'] (Iowa), and a huge steal from Wisconsin 5'11 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='82916' first='Sylvie' last='Zgonc']. Zgonc comes from a highly decorated 2023 class at Milwaukee Sting and a program on the rise at Hamilton. They will also add 6'1 attacker, [player_tooltip player_id='117633' first='Madison' last='Burr'], and Libero, [player_tooltip player_id='221973' first='Samantha' last='Untiedt'], from the Minnesota 2024 class.

Colorado

[player_tooltip player_id='73469' first='Avery' last='Bolles'] will be heading to Boulder after earning All-State honors in her senior season. She will join the Buffaloes along with 6'3 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='87531' first='Sydney' last='Jordan'] (Texas), 6'2 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='152091' first='Ruthie' last='Loomis-Goltl'] (Nebraska), and 6'3 Middle Blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='162805' first='Cayla' last='Payne'] (California).

North Dakota State

[player_tooltip player_id='73468' first='Arianna' last='Blohm'] capped off her senior season with Class AAA All-State honors and made the JVA Watchlist while competing with her Northern Lights 18-1 squad. She will take on Fargo along with 5'11 Outside Hitter, [player_tooltip player_id='222469' first='Lauren' last='Jansen'] (Illinois), and 6'2 Middle Blocker, [player_tooltip player_id='135831' first='Emma' last='Tallman'] (Iowa). I'm more excited for 2024 when 5'9 Setter, [player_tooltip player_id='122479' first='Emily' last='Bruss'] (Wisconsin), joins the mix because I think she and Blohm could become quite a dynamic pair.

Temple

Temple recruited a real competitor when they signed [player_tooltip player_id='86644' first='Ava' last='Blascziek']. She just knows how to find a way to win. Blascziek garnered honors such as Class AAAA All-State Team, All-Tournament Team, and was a Ms. Baden Finalist in the fall. She will join the Owls along with [program_tooltip program_id='432167' first='[program_tooltip program_id='432085' first='[program_tooltip program_id='430533' first='Virginia' last='']' last='']' last=''] Libero, [player_tooltip player_id='209182' first='Sofia' last='Hardy'], this fall.

William & Mary

[player_tooltip player_id='86410' first='Katherine' last='Arnason'] will head to William & Mary this fall after helping build steam at Mahtomedi. She made the 2022 AVCA All-America Watch List, 2022 JVA Watchlist, and this past fall made the 2022 Class AAA All-State Team. Her length and reach make her a formidable attacker and intimidating blocker. I can't wait to see what she can do at that next level!
