About Mary

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Hardworking, high-energy, communicator and very supportive volleyball player. I do my best to lead by example and strive to be the best teammate I can be. Whether on the court, sideline or at practice I work to find ways to add value even on plays and days I am having an off moment.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have always prided myself on bouncing back and not letting a mistake or two define the outcome of the game or my overall engagement. There are 25 points in each set and I am quick to keep that on the forefront while also keeping my teammates engaged. I have also had the opportunity to play on the USAV Nationals stage multiple times and tend to thrive under high pressure matches.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

• Headmasters Honor Roll (All A's) K - 10th • Recognized and awarded as a top Student in English, Math, and Art • Currently holding a 4.0+ GPA • 2023/2024 Head of School List - High School • National Honors Society

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have learned that I should lead by example, coloborate, support and encourage, adapt and play and be where I am needed most. I have been a captain of my team and have learned the importance of teamwork, leadership and engagement.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My 23/24 club team faced significant setbacks with the loss of several key players throughout the season. Instead of giving up, we rallied together with determination and resilience and even though we missed our open bid, we successfully secured an American Bid. Our journey has been a testament to the power of teamwork and perseverance, encapsulated by our motto, "Depleted, but not Defeated."

What type of college are you looking for?

My career aspirations are to be a Dermatologist. I am looking for a college that has high academic excellence and standards. I also am looking for a school culture that is supportive and understand the importance of balancing sports with rigorous academics given the travel and other obligations I will have on and off the court.
