We were super excited to run our first session of the USA GJNC Pre Tourney Showcase in conjunction with the USA Junior Nationals Tournament on Tuesday June 27th. We had some of the best players from all over the country attend from the 13’s through 15’s age groups. Many players stood out to our court coaches and scouts throughout the entire showcase for a variety of reasons. Some players stood out for their dynamic physical skills and some stood out for intangibles like leadership, effort and attitude. Let’s meet a few of the players who earned the honor of Top Performer at the showcase.
Alyssa Thomas [2026] 6-0 Outside/Right Side (HS: Central Catholic/Club: Rage/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Alyssa is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Central Catholic High School and also club for the Rage volleyball program. Miss Thomas was playing very high above the net and showed some awesome power in her arm swing. She has very long arms that helped her battle at the net all night long. She pressed over the net time after time to thwart would-be attackers from scoring on her team during the scrimmage portion. I liked how she was able to change her hand position on the ball to show different attacking angles against the block. This helped her score in a variety of ways versus some really great blockers. Although for club she mainly has been playing right side, she shows a lot of versatility to play on either pin and be very productive on the offensive side of the ball. We are going to be keeping our eye on her very closely.
Reese Timmerwilke Reese Timmerwilke 5'11" | MB York | 2026 IL [2026] 5-11 Middle (HS: York/Club: 1st Alliance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Reese is an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Illinois State Rankings, but is on our official watch list. She plays at York High School and also plays for the nationally recognized 1st Alliance club program. What was fascinating about Reese was her ability to hit both high tempo sets and also quick sets in front of the setter. This kind of versatility is one of the main reasons she earned this honor. She has a great understanding of the game and uses some awesome court vision to see the holes in the defense. She uses good off-speed rolls and tips to score when the opportunity presents itself. As a blocker, I loved how she used great timing to stifle the attackers. Miss Timmerwilke sealed the net off very well with her press over. She has a lot of natural power that will come in handy on both ends of the court. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from our showcase.
Alexa Warner [2026] 5-9 Outside (HS: Lone Peak/Club: Club V/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Alexa is currently an unranked prospect in the 2026 Class according to our Prep Dig Utah State Rankings, but she is on our watch list after what we saw at the showcase. She plays at Lone Peak High School and also for the nationally recognized Club V volleyball program. This young lady has a picturesque approach that is beautiful to watch. She brings her arms back well during her takeoff and uses them to propel herself up super high. It is refreshing to see this technically sound approach on a young player. She can score with authority by tooling the block with her awesome power or thread the needle through any hole in the block. But my favorite is when she decides to turn on the ball and throttle the line with her fast arm swing. Miss Warner was very fun to watch and numerous coaches gave me her name when it came to this award. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award from our showcase.
