Top 250 Expo Dallas: Sophomore Setters Vol. 1

<p>There were so many awesome sophomore setters in Dallas this past weekend, that I had to separate them to write about them all without overwhelming myself. These expos are a fantastic way to see so many athletes all at once doing their best for a short period of time. I love watching the competition and effort of all of the athletes at an expo. Let's talk about the first grouping of sophomore setters from Dallas.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Payton Brown</h2>   <p>Brown is a 5'3" setter from the sophomore class at Southwest Christian School. Brown can really slow a ball down and make it playable for her hitters. She is great at digging the ball up, setting, and serving. This is not my first time seeing Capangpangan play. She is very fast and athletic. She has great hands and control. She knows everything going on during a rally and usually comes out ahead on the court. She is just very good. She is a very impressive player.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Grace Fortune</h2>   <p>Fortune is a 5'9" setter from the sophomore class from Decatur High School. Fortune can dig really well and is very quick to the ball. She sets with ease and her plays help her team succeed. She is a motivation when on the court and makes plays to boost her team's success rate. Hawkinson has a great platform, can be really quick to the ground, and is a good blocker as well. She has smart foot placement and looks ready to move all the time. She has spastic athletic reflexes that work very well on the court. She makes smart plays and really runs her offense well. She has great range, soft hands, and is very accurate. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='484138' first='Allie' last='Allen']</h2>   <p>Allen is a 5'5" setter from the sophomore class at Annapolis Christian Academy. Allen had a nice pancake at the event and popped a ball up that I thought was unsalvageable. She has fantastic hands, a great platform, a great reach, and is really fast. She is a very good athlete and a beneficial player to any team she is on.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Alexandria Arrington</h2>   <p>Arrington is a 5'11" setter from Glen Rose High School. Arrington is very quick on her feet. She gets everything up, has great hands, and has great control. She has excellent range with accuracy. She knows where her opponents are and spreads the ball around to her hitters accordingly. She could be a 6-rotation player.</p>
