We are ready to drop our first 2027 Watch List next week and there are a ton of players we will have on our initial list. As we get you excited, we will drop a handful of players making the initial list today! There will be MANY more players added to this list as the club season gets underway. A couple of things to note. I don't personally start watching players until their freshman year/15s club season. There are already too many expectations placed on young athletes and to start building a list before they hit high school is ridiculous in my personal opinion. I preface that to say the players on the first list are built solely from their high school seasons and their contribution to the varsity level. This winter we will have our eyes and ears across the state of Kansas to see who else should be added to this list! Here are six players to know!

[player_tooltip player_id='480396' first='Peyton' last='Kubick'] - OH - Blue Valley West

The 6'1" freshman pin made a splash opening match of her high school career. She didn't slow down all season being a major piece in the puzzle that helped Blue Valley West return to the state tournament. She had 407 kills and 229 digs in year one.

[player_tooltip player_id='436201' first='Riley' last='Riggs'] - OH - Mill Valley

Riggs was able to add "state champion" to her resume in her first high school season. She not only added the title but made sure to contribute to it by having a strong freshman season. At 6'0", she provided a spark on the pin to the tune of 299 kills. She wasn't too shabby in the back row, adding 133 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='483890' first='Lily' last='Edwards'] - OH - Clay Center

We head to Clay Center to introduce you to [player_tooltip player_id='483890' first='Lily' last='Edwards']. The 5'9" outside hitter was a member of the 300/300 club in year one, putting down 382 digs. As impressive was her 355 digs for a 25-win team.

[player_tooltip player_id='434374' first='Kya' last='Behr'] - S/RS - Great Bend

The fiery 5'9" setter can do a lot on the court, as evidenced by a strong freshman season from the setter position and the pin. In the 6-2, Behr had 159 kills during her introductory high school campaign. When she wasn't swinging, she was dishing out 7.2 assists per set for close to 600 on the year. She also tallied over 300 digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='483915' first='Bella' last='Cook'] - MB - Haysville Campus

Cook was a strong presence in the front row in year one for Haysville. Standing at 6'0", she sent back a total of 104 blocks this fall. She also showed you had to account for her offensively. She was very good in front of the setter with 208 kills on the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='480398' first='Amyah' last='Werth'] - L - Hillsboro

We have to give love to the littles. Werth was dynamic this year for Hillsboro helping them secure a state title. In the year she had 497 digs. She was also stellar in serve/receive, passing 634 balls. From the libero position, she also took second balls adding 74 assists to her stat line.
