Club Preview: VCN's 15 Black

Here is a look at another talented VCN 15's team in 15 Black. There are several new faces on this year's team and will be looking to make some noise this club season as well. Some of these athletes were put on the radar from fall season and others made some noise on their respective junior varsity teams and will look for club season to take another leap. Here is a look at VCN's 15 Black.   5'9” Middle [player_tooltip player_id='521251' first='Sabrina' last='Kepler'] has long levers and will give a big block for 15 Black. Kepler's strength is the ability to hit shots. She is continuing to improve running the slide coming into the 2024 season. Look for her to continue to get stronger and improve throughout the club season.  Kepler will also bring back some veteran experience as she was on 14 Black last season.    5'10” Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='521248' first='Livia' last='Drevo'] from Lincoln Christian is a versatile player who also played middle this past fall for the Crusaders. Livia is really strong and can pack a punch on the pin. She has a really great float serve and is a strong serve receiver. The super competitive Drevo will be a strong six rotation player for Black this year. She was a leader last year for VCN 14 Blue, as it was her first year in the club scene and that experience will pay off for her to help elevate Black this coming season.    5'9” [player_tooltip player_id='521259' first='Avery' last='Loewe'], an outside or opposite hitter from Lincoln Lutheran has shown a ton of growth from last club season to this club season. She has a quiet personality, but her hits on the pin are loud! Loewe has gotten so strong on the outside and can hit the ball with force and tool shot of the block as well. She also has a great serve which will keep opposing teams on alert. Avery has nice hands as well which could be beneficial for the right side. Look for her to have a strong club season!   5'7” Lincoln Northeast Outside/Opposite [player_tooltip player_id='458167' first='Delainey' last='Volkmer'] had a breakout freshman season this past fall. She hammered 191 kills, had 234 digs, and 48 aces for the Rockets this year. Volkmer is super athletic and can jump out of the gym. She plays way bigger than 5'7”. She has a bullet-like serve that is difficult to receive. Her experience with 14 Elite last year and varsity experience at Northeast will allow her to be a great leader for 15 Black this club season. Keep an eye on her this club season, as she is so fun to watch!   5'6” [player_tooltip player_id='521256' first='Emmalyn' last='Quinn'], a libero/defensive specialist will be another returning player from 14 Black. She has a great jump float serve and is a strong serve receiver. She played both defensive specialist and libero for Waverly's Junior Varsity team this past fall so she got a ton of reps. Quinn will be a good steady leader in the back row for 15 Black. Look for her to take her game to the next level.   5'9” Lincoln Northeast [player_tooltip player_id='521245' first='Aunalie' last='Scribner'] got to experience some varsity matches this past fall. She played in 8 sets and had 2 kills with 1 ace. That Class A experience will be valuable this club season for 15 Black. Scribner is a strong blocker and hits well to zone 1 on the quick. Look for her to grow this club season!    5'7” Lincoln North Star's Setter [player_tooltip player_id='458146' first='Alex' last='Kroll'] had a breakout freshman season for the Gators this past fall. She tallied 375 set assists, 156 digs and chipped in 36 aces. Kroll is quick and has phenomenal hands. She has a great hard serve that is difficult for opposing teams to handle. Kroll does a fantastic job of playing defense first. She will bring a ton of experience from 14 Elite last year and this past varsity season to 15 Black. Keep her on your radar!   5'9” Lena Arnold from Kearney High has great hands and squares to her hitters so well. She jumps sets a lot and runs a smooth, quick offense. As a freshman she appeared in 40 sets and had 107 set assists and 8 aces. She has a hard line drive standing serve. Arnold is able to hit the tape on her serve and get some aces too. Keep an eye on this up and coming setter!    5'4” Libero/Defensive Specialist [player_tooltip player_id='521233' first='Ella' last='Twarling'] out of Norris strength is reading hitters and will sacrifice her body for any ball. She is vocal, quick and super competitive. Twarling played Libero on 14 Blue last year and that experience will help elevate her play on Black this year. Ella has a great jump float. She is able to hit it any spot you want, which creates issues for opponents because of the different depths the serves are. Her and Quinn will make for a strong back row. Twarling is also not afraid to hit from the back row as well!   5'9” Delaney Vohland, an Outside from Lincoln Northeast will be a strong pin hitter for Black this club season. She transitions well and gives herself plenty of room to hit the ball wherever it is set. She is able to hit the ball hard or take shots. Vohland does a great job of keeping the ball in front of her as well. Delaney is also great at covering all over the court as well. Keep her on your radar as well!   Black will be competing in Omaha at Asic's President's Day in February, Mideast Qualifier in St. Louis and Show Me in Kansas City. They will compete in Power League as well and then the JVA Showdown in Lincoln. Looking forward to watching 15 Black compete this winter and spring club season!
