About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like the play at a fast pace with fast tempo on my sets. I enjoy reversing the flow and trying to be unpredictable.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I move on from the past and what can’t be changed. I like to take the game point by point. Even if I’m having a rough game I try to contribute by having fun and bringing energy.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

YAMS, Student Council, Yearbook Committee, Prom Committee, National Honor Society

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I pick up underclassmen for practices and try to keep them all included by encouraging and communicating with them. I always strive to be a good role model. I readily volunteer when teachers ask students to work at events.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I tore my meniscus my freshman year. I was out for my freshman year of basketball. I worked really hard in therapy to be able to participate in my club season. This really challenged me because I didn’t know how long it would take to recover and I had to stay positive no matter what happened.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a good education and located in or near a medium sized city. I would love to stay as close to home as possible. I am looking for coaches that care about me as an athlete and a person. I want a program that will make me work hard and teach me lots of lessons.
