London is an enigma, plain and simple. Some schools will dismiss her because she’s (1) the shortest middle playing open-level ball, and (2) doesn’t have the big, lumbering body type that D1 middles usually carry. Personally, I’ll take London and her lightning-fast transition and out-of-this-world jumping ability. Bigger middles can’t keep up with her speed, and middles close to her size can’t jump as high as Miss Smith can. Realistically, London is ready for small school play RIGHT NOW, and I could see her replacing middles at multiple four-year institutions once she arrives on their campus. Yes, there are drawbacks to being shorter. But for a kid that can make up for it in work ethic and athleticism, she’s more than capable.

As far as available athletes are concerned, you’re not going to find a faster or more athletic middle than London. She gets up in a hurry, beating a ton of larger and slower blocks. The smaller middles are easy for her—she just goes over them. Her net defense is above-average, even for her size, since she jumps and moves so well. Realistically, smaller schools will fall in love with this young lady, while larger schools might see her as a high-flying right side in the future.

Quick and elite, London looks like the middle that gravity forgot. She gets up quicker than most, swings with pace harder than most, and has long strides that have her defend from pin to pin better than most middles. Showcased as an M2 on this club team, London could hit from anywhere and use her athleticism to terminate regularly. This weekend should be an excellent time to see how she matches up with bigger competition on a national scale.

There is no surprise that after watching Smith play volleyball that she is also a big time standout on the track for Brownsburg High School out of the Indianapolis area.  What a talent. Smith causes havoc out of the middle for Circle City 16 Purple.  She is quick to leap and terminate with some sharp angles.  When Circle is in system and can utilized Smith in the middle, this really opens up their options on the pins where they are always dangerous.  

London is a high-flying middle blocker with huge potential. She takes an explosive approach and absolutely soars. London is another athlete with near-infinite potential, especially as she continues to impress and play at such a high level. Has a lot of power fueled by her massive vertical and has a positive impact on the court.
