Bourff is already committed to play Division I volleyball, and her performance in this regional matchup made it easy to see why. She was the best middle blocker on the floor, consistently asserting her presence at the net with excellent blocking fundamentals. Bourff moves laterally well, uses her length effectively, and does an outstanding job of spreading her hands to take away space and close hitting angles. Beyond her blocking prowess, she was consistently available in transition, particularly on quick one-ball sets, where she could terminate in both directions. While Brownsburg’s 6-2 offense limited the opportunity to evaluate her slide attack, Bourff showed the movement, instincts, and net presence of a high-level M2 with plenty of potential at the next level.

Allison’s middle play has been unsung for quite some time, but this fall has REALLY opened the eyes of this author. Long, lean and athletic, Miss Bourff’s commitment to Ohio University seemed inevitable by those in her inner circle. For those that aren’t familiar, Allison is as good of an M1 as an M2, and will be leaned upon early and often to go against the middles of CG on Saturday.

Allison, at first glance earlier this club season, had all of the physical stats to be a solid middle recruit. Tall, long, athletic and willing to work hard to get the job done. Fast-forward to now, and the Ohio U commit has great transition footwork, a high contact point and the training necessary to understand her role in all of this—-use your size, speed and relentlessness to score points at both Brownsburg and Circle to prep for being a Bobcat in the fall of ‘28.

Allison currently plays for Circle City 14 Purple (their 1s team) and is an absolute wall at the net. The combo of her and DeAsia John together in the middle can really wreck the opposing team’s offense and cause them to commit a lot of hitting errors. In the one set I watched alone, Bourff had 3 stuff solo blocks. She has big hands and moves laterally well and under control. One part of her game that is well developed for her age is the ability to read the opposing middle blocker when they are hitting; Allison is able to dive either direction with her hands quickly to take specific shots away. I am excited to see how her transition game improves as the season moves on (especially speed-wise) and if her setters can work to feed her the ball more.
