Last club season my Bakersfield 15-1/Judy team won the 2023 USAV GJNC 15 Freedom National Championship and I was named Tournament MVP. My mom played volleyball at San Jose State u0026amp; University of South Florida and my dad played baseball at Purdue University. They both continue to coach in their sport. Athletics is a big part of my family. What makes me standout as a libero is my quick reflexes and knowledge/instincts for the game. Not only pass and dig, I can also hit and set. I have been playing this sport since I was practically born and have been around the game, watching my mom coach and my older sister play. I love the competition and the energy of the game. I strive everyday to get better and love to be surrounded by those who share the same passion as I do for this sport.u003c/pu003e","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6647ab57b5c6d"} /-->

I played Volleyball for 10 years and I played club for 4 years. I decided to attend the Prep dig pre-tournament showcase to not only showcase my abilities on the court but as well as make new friends, learn new techniques, and knowledge on the court. Importantly this is beneficial for me to get to play with hardworking devoted players which will be very competitive experience.u003c/pu003ernAs an undersized setter I always love being given the opportunities to go front row and showing off my abilities against the tall opponents with my abilities to jump. My strengths of being a setter is being able to get to the ball quick, as well as putting my 100% effort to any out of system ball and giving the highest chances for my teammates to score. Being a small setter I devote a lot of time into my defense because I did transition from a libero to a setter I enjoy playing defense as well as backrow setting. Using my voice on the court is a prime factor of my game. I always make it clear when I am on the court by celebrating every point like it is the last point and hustling every play. As a vocal setter I always put effort into helping my teammates score by asking for constant feedback on what set they need and how much court they want me to take on defense for high chances to get a point because it is my initiative to get the best ball to my teammates.rnrnBesides playing volleyball I enjoy meeting new people and the impact it has made on me. Volleyball has taught me you need support through the hard times and the easy to be able to have high success. I love hanging out at the beach and spending time with my friends and family. I also spend time towards my homework to maintain good grades being in honors and AP classes.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["480605"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"u003cp data-pm-slice=u00221 1 []u0022u003eMy name is Kalyani and one of the things that Volleyball has taught me is how to look deep inside myself and rely on my work ethic to develop and show the type of athlete I can truly be. My teammates and I worked incredibly hard to bring my school volleyball team the farthest it has ever gone in the history of our school. We went from loosing in the D3 championship round the year before to this year beating the same team we lost to previously, in the D2 championships. Not only did we win the championships, but we made it to the regional semifinals for D5. I went on to be awarded the D2 player of the year for the Los Angeles City section.u003c/pu003ernu003cp data-pm-slice=u00221 1 []u0022u003eMy journey through volleyball has been an interesting one, but being able to end off my sophomore high school season positively was a great lead into the club season at Los Angeles volleyball club. My coaches have all either played professionally or in college, and they have always said, Volleyball is more about the process than seeking out outcomes. Volleyball has taught me that not everybody will be in your corner. However, at the same time, there will also always be the people who support you and your goals because they see that you are passionate and a person of integrity when it comes to how you go about your business, and how you treat other people. And volleyball has taught me how to be strong, both physically and mentally.u003c/pu003ernu003cp data-pm-slice=u00221 1 []u0022u003eI have decided to transfer schools. My primary focus in transferring schools was academics. I personally wanted to transfer to a school that was able to provide even more academic resources than the school I am attending now, as well as be able to bring my volleyball career to the next level. I am very excited for the change that is coming this next year and the growth I hope to see over the highschool season. I am incredibly excited to train under coach Stefanie Wigfall, she has coached some of the very best players in the country, most specifically Olivia Babcock who is an extraordinary player.u003c/pu003ernu003cp data-pm-slice=u00221 1 []u0022u003eI want to thank everyone that has helped me in my volleyball career, starting with my dad and club director, Jason Olive who was a first team all American at university of Hawai'i at Manoa and was trained by some of the most revered coaches in the country. I will be attending the SoCal Preview, USAV Nationals in Las Vegas with with Los Angeles Volleyball Club U16 HYPE-JD and the Under Armour Next Volleyball camp in July.u003c/pu003e","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":2,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6647ab57b5d72"} /-->
