Sylvia Flood Sylvia Flood 5'11" | OH Wauwatosa East | 2028 State WI is rising fast among top players in Wisconsin from the Class of 2028.  She was on Milwaukee Sting 15 Black last year where she was a key piece to their gold bracket finish in the 15 National Division at USAV’s in Dallas. She can score points from anywhere on the court.  She is so terminal from the outside with a high contact point and velocity, but also knows when to tool the block and change speeds.  There is also a huge upside where she can make things happen out of system.  She can hit the ball square and smart from the backrow.  She is the total eraser for the Sting 16 Gold team. 

Sylvia is among the smartest players on the court. She can outplay even the toughest opponents. Her volleyball IQ and court awareness are some of the best in the state, and she uses that to her advantage at every opportunity. Every time I have seen Sylvia play, she has elevated her game, and it has been an incredible process to watch. The effort she must invest to achieve those gains is likely substantial. Sylvia was another top-10 stock riser, and if she continues improving at this rate, being ranked #7 won’t be her last stop.

Sylvia is an incredibly dynamic pin hitter who perfectly balances power and finesse on offense. She has logged 265 kills so far this season and is the #1 scorer in the state for the class of 2028 and #9 among all athletes. She is dominant because she is tough to read, aggressive, and consistent. I had the opportunity to watch some of her matches during the club season, and she is a relentless leader on the court. She never backs down, and it pays off big time during matches.

Sylvia Flood Sylvia Flood 5'11" | OH Wauwatosa East | 2028 State WI started her high school career off in a strong way with just under 200 kills in her freshman campaign.  She followed her high school season up with a monster club season for Milwaukee Sting 15 Black.  She was a key piece to their success and run at the national tournament where she was an All Tournament honoree in the 15 National Division.  Her athleticism, physicality, and all around ability was something to watch first hand.  She is the type of athlete who can handle the pressure of being served at and transitioning right into attack mode. She can score from anywhere on the court and will be fun to watch for the Red Raiders this fall.

From her serve receive, middle back defense, to scoring from the front and backrow – she does it all. Against a winner advances to gold matchup with PowerPlex she was big time. She scores points but it’s the little things that really set her apart. She takes aggressive and smart swings, her IQ is mature, and you can tell she is rooting for her teammates just as much as they are rooting for her. 

Sylvia has some of the best shot selection and execution I’ve ever seen in this age group. She is an impact player who can be relied on to earn points in nearly any situation. Sylvia never backs down; she is aggressive, confident, and incredibly smart. Her volleyball IQ is through the roof, and she seems to see the opposing defense moments before she takes her swing. Sylvia is also highly talented in the back row and is very effective in pass to attack. She contributes for her team in all six rotations and is a naturally leader on the court.

Sylvia Flood Sylvia Flood 5'11" | OH Wauwatosa East | 2028 State WI of MKE Sting 15 Black is who you call when your team needs points the most.  She is highly skilled, but also has the size, athleticism, and physicality to perform at a really high level.  As a six rotation outside hitter she scores points out of the backrow, can attack out of serve receive from the right side, and is extremely terminal on the outside.  She has a knack for taking what the defense gives her, she can hit the line and cross court shots, but is also really good at using the hands of the block as well as mixing in an offspeed shot.  The defense needs to know where she is in every rotation.
