Onward to Day 2!

With the eye on the prize becoming more and more clear, the angst is building up in the gym. Day 2 of the 15 Open saw the stars shining brighter than ever as the field for a championship gets smaller.

Between all of the upsets, the barn burners and the dominating finishes; let's take a look at the highlights from Day 2 of AAU Nationals, 15 Open.

Isabel Incinelli - WPVC

With an upset loss on day 1 in the back of Incinelli's mind, Day 2 was all about domination. One of the most lethal attackers in the open division, Incinelli continually shines for Winter Park. Her height and length takes her so far above the rest, but she brings such intelligence to the court that makes her that much more effective.

Cheyenne Reyes - KIVA

This player's arm is a real live wire. Reyes can go up and bring the hammer down with some of the best. No matter what, she's going down swinging and it worked very well in KIVA's favor.

[player_tooltip player_id='519197' first='Kate' last='Welty'] - Miami Hype

Don't let this player's size fool you! Not only can Welty bring the heat, but her off-speed is incredible to behold. For not only a player of her stature, but a player of her youth, Welty plays the game with such a high IQ! She's been a real big piece for keeping Miami's Hype alive.

Sanaa Mohammed - CJV

This is a player that brings a lot of a lot to the court. While excelling at typical six rotation outside hitter things such as pass to attack, I was even more impressed with Mohammed's ability to run the offense in out of system situations. She brings a calm, leading disposition to the court.

Ruthie Robinson - Kairos

There hasn't been too many middles lighting up the courts as much as Robinson has. With an electrifying slide and impeccable connection with her setter on a multitude of routes, she's dangerous!

Lilah Anthony - KIVA

From one pin to the other, KIVA has themselves an array of spitfires on the court at all times. Anthony is another one of those live wire arms that can crank it. A lefty with a bit of pop in both her jump and swing, she's used in a lot of different ways and is big go-to for this tean.

Victoria Simmons - CJV

If we're going to talk about high level opposites, Simmons may be up there as one of the best that the 15 Open has to offer. At such a young age, it's not shocking to see Simmons bring the heat in the way that she does. What's most impressive is her ability to hit the gnarly out of system balls that she does. This is a player that is going to need a lot more attention.

Cyndee Speights - High Performance

This player may be on the quiet side, but don't be fooled, she can be deadly. This is a player that's been on my radar for a solid year at this point, but I haven't been able to see her in action much since. Needless to say, the growth here is insane. Speights was doing a lot of great things on the right pin for High Performance.

Nellie Alves - L2

Throw her into set, or throw her into take a crack at the ball. Alves came to PLAY on Day 2. With L2's major upset win over FaR Out to open up the day, much of the thanks is to Alves' intense net play. She simply could not be fed the ball enough!

Josalyn Samuels - Kairos

There is no wonder why this Kairos team is such a well-balanced machine. When you have a player like Samuels running the offense, it's all nothing but butter! This setter is playing at a different level than her peers and she's got the eyes for a championship run. Her demeanor on the court alongside her timeliness is so hard to compete with.

Ellie Enger - WPVC

This is another one of those setter, attacker hybrids that are just so insane to deal with. Enger can cook up some of the sauciest sets and then follow up the next few rotations busting out her one slew of kills! The versatility of this player is unmatched.

Mia Lavalle - Miami Hype

In a team full of undersized dandies, one thing is going to have to be king, and that's ball control. Look no further than this player as the leader of it all. Lavalle is small but absolutely mighty in the back court. Sbe has incredible defensive touches and her movement around the court is so smooth.
