Austin Skyline 15 Royal

Austin Skyline is led by head coach Rachael Sunder. They won their bid at the Lone Star Regional tourney. This team has competed very well in the Open division all year long. They will definitely use all of that experience in order to have a great shot at earning a medal. [player_tooltip player_id='478458' first='Susan' last='(Allie) Hudgins'] is one of the reasons why this team is so special. She is highly ranked on our state rankings and for good reason. The six foot four stud will be highly sought after from many top colleges very soon. She can score with the best of them from any location on the court. When I watched them this season, the libero play of [player_tooltip player_id='449797' first='Laven' last='Blumoff'] truly amazed me. I loved how she moved on the court and especially how she created such wonderful angles with her platform to rebound balls directly to her setter. Over and over she pursued balls with relentless effort and kept this squad in every rally. Setter [player_tooltip player_id='534338' first='Emerson' last='Butler'] knows her hitters and competes very hard to get them the ball exactly where they like it. She is definitely someone I would go into battle with. Middle [player_tooltip player_id='534325' first='Camille' last='Presley'] wowed me with her high touch. She is someone who opposing coaches should watch out for when she is in the front row. Right side [player_tooltip player_id='534305' first='Amelia' last='Albright'] can do so much on the court. She is someone who we will be watching very closely as she progresses in her position. [player_tooltip player_id='443008' first='Audrey' last='Hedlund'] is a fantastic middle who can battle on the defensive end at the net. I also loved the athleticism I saw from left side [player_tooltip player_id='534371' first='Jazzlyn' last='Hepburn']. She is someone who could very easily rise in the rankings as I think her ceiling to improve is extremely high. Based on this squad's season, I think they might be a front-runner to stand on the podium in this division. We will be watching very closely.

SF Tremors 15 Wolverines

Tremors won their bid at the Northern California Regional tourney. They are led by head coach Sierra Yuen. I was able to watch them in person at the Salt Lake City Showdown National Qualifier and was thoroughly impressed. One of the main reasons why this team is so balanced is due to the setting of [player_tooltip player_id='500499' first='Zoie' last='Loui']. I love the way she talks to her teammates and leads them into battle. Her serve is stifling and she runs the offense very well. There is no doubt that she is one of the leaders of this squad. When she rotates to the front tow, she also stays in and plays right side. Middle Melrose Lam is a big target for her setter and does a great job of running many routes. I like how she keeps her hands high throughout her entire block. This helps with timing different hitters and is a great technique to show young players. I love how how aggressive she is on the defensive side at the net. Outside hitter Samira Zamora Espinoza might be smaller in height but she definitely has the heart of a lion. Players like this embody exactly what we want to teach all players. It doesn't matter how tall you are, it only matters how much desire you have to strive for excellence. Every player on this team plays like they believe in each other and will fight to the finish every time. The other setter in this solid 6-2 offense is Miya Sekioka. The offense does not stop when she gets subbed in. Her hands are solid and she delivers to the target each time. We will keep our eye on this team and you should also.
