Houston HS Previews: 6A – District 20 – Five Players to Watch

She's capable of contributing in several areas of the game and is a centerpiece in the team's playing system. Mombo handles her setting duties extremely well, feeding her hitters with precise sets across the net, and is also well-versed in her ball distribution. She's extremely important for them offensively and is set quite often when at the net. Weathersby hit very quick sets in the middle, can swing different sets across the net and is capable of putting a lot of power in the ball. Last year, she did an excellent job in her double duty, setting with precision and intelligence and delivering well on offense too. This season, I expect to see her as more of a full-time setter, a role in which she'll be able to put her stamp on the team with her efficient and creative playmaking, which has only gotten better as she continues to develop. Extremely technical and reliable, the outside hitter delivers a lot in serve-receive and helps her team remain in system against any opponent. Coy can score from the left or the right and has been consistently expanding her offensive game, adding smart shots and tips to it.
