Sister Duos That Conquered the Sizzle

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>It is so fun to see sister duos on the court together. And we had a number of them take on the Sizzle this week. I am sure I did not get them all, so I apologize for missing you! Here are some sister duos that conquered the Sizzle. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='178238' first='Ava' last='Patchett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='510419' first='Alaina' last='Patchett']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I am pretty sure we have had a Patchett sister duo almost (if not) every year we have had the Sizzle. Ava is a 2025 who will be a rising senior this year. She typically sets during the high school season but is a libero during club. Ava has amazing court awareness and is the ideal utility player who can step in wherever her team needs her and play at a high level. Alaina is a talented pin hitter in the class of 2027 who got a lot of 6-rotation action at the Sizzle. Her ball control is well-established and she is a talented passer as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='388460' first='Kaitlin' last='Van Wie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='510464' first='Lauren' last='Van Wie']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Waunakee had two teams at the Sizzle, so while Kaitlin and Lauren were not on the same court at the same time, they were still leading their respective teams. Kaitlin is a 2025 pin hitter who is incredibly well-rounded. She impressed me with her consistent passing and was an offensive threat in the front row. Lauren is a 2027 setter who has a quick touch on the ball and great fundamentals. She puts great tempo on the ball and has a lot of potential. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='178252' first='Ellieana' last='Vogt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='509351' first='Mckenna' last='Vogt']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is another 2025 and 2027 sister duo. Ellieana is a talented pin hitter who can swing on both pins. She is a utility player who can play on both pins and is always ready to make an impact. Ellieana can also pass well and is the type of player who works hard on every single point. McKenna is a libero/ds who is quick and scrappy. She gets great touches on balls and can cover a lot of space on defense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='510418' first='Harper' last='VanLannen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='510420' first='Finley' last='VanLannen']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Harper and Finley are twins in the class of 2027. Harper is a pin that can also set. She is a player with a lot of potential and one to keep an eye on as she continues to improve and impress. Harper can play on either pin. I saw her play some outside at the Sizzle, and during club, I saw her set and play right side. Finley is a well-established libero in this class. She is ranked in the top 10 and is a player who can lead and command the court. Both Harper and Finley are athletes who could impact this class and their high school team in a big way. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Skylar Dorsey and Ayla Dorsey</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Skylar and Ayla are another set of twins who played at the sizzle. They are a settle and middle duo that have a great on-court connection. Skylar is a setter who runs the court. She feeds all of her hitters well and has very clean form. Her ability to move the ball around with seeming ease impressed me. Ayla is a middle hitter who had a huge offensive presence for Ottowa. She is engaged and aggressive on the net and put up a solid block as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='178281' first='Alayna' last='Geiser'] and [player_tooltip player_id='522104' first='Brenna' last='Geiser']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both Alayna and Brenna made it into my notes app before I knew they were sisters. Alayna is a high-flying 6-rotation pin who typically has multiple touches on the ball in each play. She is relentless on the court and has a huge vertical an powerhouse swing. She can swing effectively from the front and back row and is a high-level passer. Brenna is a 2028 libero who was crazy impressive at the Sizzle. She has a clean platform and is great in serve receive and coverage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
