Two hours is not nearly enough time to fairly analyze more than 100 athletes competing on multiple courts, but that was my task on August 3, at the Prep Dig Stock Up Showcase in Kansas City, Kansas.

I know I missed some prospects and did not get to see others as much as I would have liked to, but in any competitive situation, the cream has a way of finding its way to the top.

I also love making all-star teams. I have always played fantasy sports, and even when I was a kid would imagine I was a coach or general manager putting together my team.

Today on Prep Dig I have put together three All-Deck teams from the more than 70 Kansas High School Athletes who competed at the Missouri/Kansas Showcase.

The first edition is six athletes from the classes of 2025 and 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='173382' first='Ashlee' last='Chavez'], 5'9”, RS, St. James Academy, ‘25

Chavez continues to prove that she is a workhorse athlete and willing to do whatever it takes to improve her skills and her recruitment stock. She was one of only six athletes from the class of 2025 to take advantage of the showcase. She competed full bore in all the drills and during the team scrimmages. She was motivating other players during the event. She hits the ball hard and shows no signs of slowing down and taking it easy. She is currently ranked No. 49 in the class of 2025 by Prep Dig Kansas and is one of the higher-ranked uncommitted prospects. She has multiple college offers but is keeping them under lock and key.

[player_tooltip player_id='551804' first='Addison' last='Schwinn'], 5'10, MB, Jefferson West, ‘26

The Jeff West prospect is ranked No. 29 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. I have known for a long time that she can hit the snot out of the ball, but it was during the showcase I first noticed how talented she is defensively. She showed an ability to serve receive and dig a tough ball during the event. I feel like she can play Division II ball and could get offers from some smaller Division I programs. Schwinn stepped up her game a couple of notches in this event and seemed to be spurned on by the challenge of competing with and against such a talented cast of athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id='222084' first='Lilli' last='Weber'], 5'9”, S, Shawnee Mission Northwest, ‘26

Weber was a setter I was looking forward to watching for the first time. She looked even quicker in person than she did on film. She was very active during the showcase and in sync with a rotating group of hitters. Weber is currently ranked No. 38 in the Prep Dig Kansas rankings, but she is deserving of a climb up the ladder with her showcase performance. I was impressed with how she communicated with unfamiliar hitters and quickly owned up to a missed set when she made one.

[player_tooltip player_id='222091' first='Avery' last='Sands'], 5'7”, DS/L, Lansing, ‘26

Multiple parents in attendance asked me questions about Sands and shared their admiration for her skills. She is an unassuming and versatile athlete who makes everyone she plays with better. She can play outside hitter but feels as if she needs to focus on her defensive skills to play collegiately. She is too good of a hitter to not use in that role, therefore, I don't see her ever wearing the libero jersey. Teams will want to utilize her serve and attack skills. The Lansing prospect is currently ranked No. 9 overall in the class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='489650' first='Taylor' last='McDonald'],6'1”, MB, Valley Center, ‘26

The Valley Center prospect posted solid numbers as a sophomore and I liked her approach and swing when seeing them live. McDonald is a two-sport prospect who finished her sophomore season with 233 kills and scored six-plus points per game as a center for the Valley Center. She is very physical and benefits from competing with a younger sister who is every bit as tall as her if not a smidge taller. I noticed that special extra “it” factor that comes with growing up in an athletic family. McDonald is currently ranked No. 17 in the Kansas Class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='492585' first='Zorianna' last='Turner'], 5'9”, OH, Wichita Heights, ‘26

Turner is a physical specimen who benefited from competing in the showcase. She has a nice reach and stepped up her game with the elite competition. Turner had a couple of nice hits during the team play session and has natural jumping ability. The Wichita Heights prospect is currently ranked No. 65 overall in the class of 2026 but made a solid argument to be moved up.
