About Ellie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay as passionate, energetic, and determined. I play to win and never let up.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to always play for my team and give 110%. I believe a team must work together in order to be successful. We either win as a team or lose as a team but I always do my part. My personality is very fun, but also hard working. I love to have fun but there will never be a time you see me messing around on the court. When I walk onto the court I mean business.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, At school I participate in FCA, was on Honor Roll, helped lead the morning announcements, and was on the team that created the yearbook. In 2025 I received KVA All Academic award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

After my 14s year I decided to play up and move up to a 16-1 team. This really pushed me to, not only further develop my setting skills but by being surrounded by teammates that want to win as much as I do, it helped me further develop my leadership and communication skills. This summer I began to give volleyball lessons to younger girls, which has also taught me how I can communicate better.

Mill Valley’s starting setter Ella Florez Ella Florez Ella Florez 5'9" | S Mill Valley | 2026 State #130 Nation KS is ranked No. 1 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026 and has verbally committed to Iowa State University. So the question is: will Baine make the varsity as a second setter or backup setter, or will she be used in a different role? It doesn’t matter other than the official varsity stats that she collects, because she is a talented setter and another fun athlete to watch. She plays in a program with a winning pedigree and gets to share reps with one of the best setters in the state, which will help her overall intangible skills and in her recruitment.
