New Liberos to Watch on Nebraska’s 2027 Rankings

Marsh landed on our radar through her standout defense with South Central NE 15 Black. Her team battled through the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament and kept that positive momentum going into GJNC. Marsh will compete for a starting role at Thayer Central, where she already had an impact as a freshman. She primarily played in the backcourt as a freshman but could also pitch in at setter this fall. Real joins a Vikings team that could have several sophomores in its starting lineup while still having enough firepower to stay in the tournament conversation. This up-and-coming defender recently exhibited her strong backcourt instincts at our Prep Dig Stock Up Showcase, where Real stood out during individual drills and six-on-six competitions. The Omaha Buena Vista athlete exhibited her steady, consistent platform from the beginning of our La Vista event. This year's club season was also full of highlight moments as Miller donned the contrasting jersey for [program_tooltip program_id='428728' first='River' last='City Jrs'] 15 Red. She patrolled the middle-back area for her squad, allowing Miller to patrol a ton of space along the end line. She piled up digs at an incredible rate for Nebraska Juniors 15 Red, even at high-profile stages like AAU Nationals. Her fearless crosscourt saves kept 15 Red in extended rallies, but that was just the surface of Kosmicki's impact on the team. She also passed a large segment of the court and allowed her fellow hitters to focus on their offensive responsibilities. Casey was a valuable contributor whether she was in the libero jersey or subbing in for a frontcourt attacker. Her quality, controlled digs allowed 15 Red to operate its transition offense and find crucial kills to hold serve. Casey is due for a sophomore surge with Auburn High School, another program with a large group of impactful underclassmen. Scribner was one of several exceptional defenders in the gym this spring, and she'll represent Ashland-Greenwood in the fall campaign. The Bluejays will feature a stout ball control unit that could lean on Scribner for some early contributions. Steskal recently showed her willingness to dig some heat at our Stock Up Showcase--a skill that will serve her well at Elkhorn High School. The Antlers are hoping to climb back into the Class A conversation with a unique medley of veteran players and spry newcomers.
