Houston Open 2024: All-Tournament Team

Her intelligent playmaking made the team's offense very strong and efficient, paving the way for their successful campaign. St. John's ran a very intricate offense, with a lot of movement and players hitting in different positions and Landahl knew how to make the most of it, getting her pin hitters to swing to an open net on some occasions. She was an important offensive weapon for them, using her physicality to beat blockers and score points for the team. Posey was efficient from the left and the right, getting off the floor well and swinging with power, and made very few errors. She was excellent on both sides of the ball, giving the team a lot of stability and being a pillar for them. Hyde's offense was very efficient and consistent as she used her impressive athleticism to make contact with the ball at a very high point and her improved decision-making to put it down. She's mostly a right side hitter for them, but spent some time at the pin as well and delivered a strong performance. A very physical player, Ochelli had no problems scoring points from the left and was also very productive with her blocking. The team's fluid playing system suited her extremely well as the middle could make the most of her versatility, swinging and blocking from all three positions at the net with great efficiency. Because of how athletic she is, Carroll can score from anywhere and that's what happened over the weekend as few opponents had answers to her strong offensive game. She battled taller and more athletic middles across the net and did a very good job for the team, especially on offense. Levine got to score on most of her swings because she was able to put so much pressure on the ball that opponents had a hard time controlling it. She was very active defensively, touching on everything that went around her and getting several digs. The libero did a great job of leading the team in serve-receive, covering almost half of the court herself and delivering accurate passes to her setter.
