Ochelli and her Fort Bend Christian Academy team finished second in the event, with five wins and just one loss. She’s mostly a right side hitter for them, but spent some time at the pin as well and delivered a strong performance. A very physical player, Ochelli had no problems scoring points from the left and was also very productive with her blocking. She was surprisingly confident and efficient with her passing for a player who doesn’t do it very often and displayed a very complete game.

Ochelli and her Houston Skyline 17 Black team will get on the court in the 17 USA division. Originally a middle, she moved to the right a couple of years ago and has continued to develop her game since then. Ochelli always had the size and the physical tools to thrive on both sides of the ball playing the position, but has been able to develop technically and mentally. Her offense is very powerful and much more consistent now while her blocking translated extremely well to the right, making of her a big obstacle to pin hitters trying to score on her team.

Playing just the three net rotations, Ochelli has quietly put on a solid performance against Lutheran South, contributing on both sides of the ball at right side for Fort Bend Christian. She was set just 12 times (the least among the five starting hitters), but put seven of those attempts down, some of which were out of system, to end long rallies, reaching a solid 58.3% efficiency rate. Ochelli also got a couple of blocks and put a lot of pressure on opposing outside hitters, who tried to avoid her at the net. She also made an impressive dig at the start of set three and did well with her ball control in general.

A strong offensive player, Ochelli will certainly score a lot of points for Houston Skyline 16 Black in the 16 USA division this weekend. Very physical and athletic, she first came up as a middle in the last club season with great promise. Because of her incredible offensive potential, Ochelli was moved to outside hitter during the high school season with Fort Bend Kempner. The move helper her develop other areas of her game and opened the door to her transition to the right. Ochelli can hit from anywhere at the net and is really hard to stop because of her length and power.

After playing outside hitter and carrying the offense of her team Kempner during the last high school season, Ochelli had a seamless transition back to her original middle blocker position. Extremely athletic, she’s a force on both sides of the ball in the middle, combining tremendous offensive firepower with a big and technical block. The experience in a different position has clearly made her develop her all-around game as she was clearly more confident with her first touch and more effective when hitting from the right.

An extremely athletic player, Ochelli has been moved from her original middle blocker spot to the pin this season in an attempt to make of her a more central piece in the Cougars’ offense. That has been the case, as Ochelli is fully adapted to the new role on offense, where she can use her reach and firepower to score points. Although she’s the team’s go-to offensive player and is set out-of-system fairly often, Ochelli doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. Also a very good blocker, she has some room for improvement in her ball control.

Playing as an outside hitter, the physical Ochelli was Kempner’s best scoring option throughout the match. It took her a little while to get into a rhythm, but after she did it, she was nearly unstoppable, hitting the ball hard from the left, right and the backcourt. She had two really good shots from the left (one hitting sharp angle hard and the one sending the ball towards the corner) going on during the match, which kept Ball’s defenders guessing all night. Ochelli had some trouble with her ball control at times, but was the best player in her team because of her massive offensive contributions.
