Prep Dig Top 250: Deep Pin Group

The pin position shined during the Prep Dig Top 250 showcase this past weekend featuring athletes from Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas. The diversity in their playmaking ability was definitely something that stood out. This group will be broken out into multiple parts over the week!    The Wichita native Turner was impressive taking swings from both pins during the showcase. She displayed above-average athleticism and had a lively arm swing. An area of the game I liked seeing was the work to get in transition after a block attempt, she consistently made herself available for her setter. She also did a good job of mixing her shots up.     Krus took most of her swings from the right side and stood out as a difference-maker on the court. She has a good contact point to the ball and has a dangerous arm. She can fight through the block but can find different pockets on the floor to score. An area of her game we should see improvement in her blocking. She gets good touches on the ball but as she continues to work on pressing, she will send more balls back.     The Brinkley twins were in the building Sunday. We will start with Natalie. She is listed as a middle and played some throughout scrimmage play but with her athleticism and playmaking ability, I see her most effective on the pin. The thing I like about her, along with her sister is they want the ball and won't shy away from taking the big swing. Both players displayed strong leadership abilities on the court as well.     Kaylie had a productive morning at the showcase. She has many intangibles she brings to the floor. She is vocal and does a good job of lifting others. In regards to ability, she has strong court vision and can put balls in different areas of the court. You can tell she takes pride in her blocking by the frustration displayed if she missed one or got tooled. She is a player to keep an eye on.     The 2027 St. Dominic product displayed some high-level skills in competition play. I like her size and she's an asset at the net defensively. Offensively, she does a good job of reading the block and determining where she puts the ball, with her size she had little difficulty hitting over the block on many occasions.     The Park Hill product has the skills that could see her play on either the pin or as a defensive specialist at the next level. At her size, she's not afraid to swing at a big block but I was most impressed with her back-row efforts. She was one of a few players readily available to take swings from the back row and had success doing such. She's an above-average defender and passes the ball well.     Webb is another young player with next-level potential. She has good size and is long. I'd like for her to continue to work on using that reach to attack the ball at a higher touchpoint. I like the power she brings to the court and how she can score down the line and in the seams. She is a player I look forward to seeing more of during the club season.
