About Lextyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Scrappy, eye in the ball, always on, encouraging and ready to cover my teammates, and I love serving an ACE!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

It may take me a minute to get comfortable. I like to survey the crowd and not step on anyone’s toes. Once I know you, you can expect me to be loud, laughing, and making sure everyone feels welcomed and supported in and out of the game. Easily put mistakes behind me and eager to learn from them.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

This year I have start participating doing community service through the school.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

2 weeks before Regionals I was diagnosed with Mono and Influenza. I didn’t get out of bed for a week but knew that my team needed me. So I did everything the doctor said with the hopes that I could still help my team. I was cleared the day before that my spleen was no longer enlarged. Although I was exhausted, I also knew we were down three people and that my team needed me and I powered through.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am interested in finding a competitive business and volleyball college. I have been so lucky while playing to be surrounded by the best teammates both on Varsity and in all my Club teams. We support and cheer for each other like we are best friends. I hope to find that same level of “family” in college.

Pankey was a key cog for a young Cedar Rapids Kennedy outfit that experienced growing pains in 2024 but also grew a lot. That should pay off this season and beyond. Pankey is a main part of that bright future. She delivered 215 digs as a sophomore on the varsity last year. A strong club campaign has Pankey prepared for an even more impactful 11th-grade season. She looked ready for it when scouting the LOVB Midwest Recruiting Showcase in June. Pankey moved well laterally and showed quick reflexes. Those traits help her cover a lot of the court and get into position to deliver precise passes.
