Top Smashers at Ohio Top 250 Expo

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A number of solid hitters came from all over the Buckeye State and other parts of the country to Mentor on Sunday for the annual expo and displayed solid skills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Powerful hits are more than just hitting balls hard. They have to be accurate to land in-bounds and away from sound defensive specialists and blockers. She delivered a number of sound shots at different parts of the net including line shots and cutters across the court. Her crease shots were particularly good. Garrett does a great job adjusting to different setters and is a sound server, blocker and passer. It's hard to hit balls past her in the middle, especially when she doubles up with other players including twin sister Anna, who is the same height. Grill does a great job swing blocking. Grill takes a lot of solid swings at the net giving solid defenders trouble. Grill is also a nice server for the Wolverines. Evans puts a lot of power into balls. Evans pounded out a lot of good crosses. Evans can angle balls off blockers and out of bounds. Defensively, Evans constantly challenged balls at the net. She had a number of timely blocks. She does a great job directing balls away from defenders. Scherzinger rises high above the net to go over and around blockers.
