About Maci

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Fiercely competitive Libero who helps run the court. I am super vocal and bring lots of positive energy/hype! My high volleyball IQ and court-reading skills allow me to properly place myself for defensive plays, as well as to call plays to help my teammates. It’s a team sport, so I strive to inspire, support and lift my teammates. I am adept at handling out-of-system plays and back row hits.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am intentional in my every move and am aggressive in both defense and serve-receive, priding myself on keeping the ball off the floor with consistency. I play to win. Mistakes will happen, but you can’t dwell…you must shake them off and move on to the next play. As for losses, I always reflect and try to learn from them to fuel my growth for the next match.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I participate in LifeTeen, Campus Life and volunteer my time for charitable organizations such as Holy Spirit @ Geist Church, ITown Church, Good Samaritan Network, Changing Footprints, Feed Your Neighbor and more.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As noted above, I do lots of volunteer work, which lends to my community service. I also hold a part-time job as a Preschool Swim Lesson Instructor and have learned a great deal about leadership and teamwork. I am Libero on our high school JV volleyball team, my club team and am a Varsity Basketball Cheerleader Flyer - all of which require teamwork for success!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Life is full of challenges…especially as a teenage girl! Beyond that, I have faced several injuries, including bruised ribs and a stress fracture in my shin. I am currently fully recovered and working back to my full potential.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college community where I can thrive academically, athletically and socially. I want a school with a positive team culture. I would prefer a medium-sized campus, preferably in a warm climate. I am currently interested in both interior design and campaign promotions/marketing/advertising, but I am taking exploratory coursework this year to further help me decide a major.
