Expert Analysis
Bob Abels | Prep Dig Scout
I have not yet watched the Virginia Juniors 15 team play this year. Last year Madison was their most consistent outside hitter. Juniors ranks 12th regionally, but they finished in second place in the American Division of the Sunshine Classic, one win short of earning a bid.
There are still some little things Madison needs to improve on, which will come with experience. Finding more consistency with her passing in the back row and improving upon her hitting percentage when in the front row. Last year she hit left side for Oakton as a frosh. She was one of the top offensive players on the team. Playing against older players always presents a challenge for incoming frosh, but Madison held her own.
The one huge attribute that impresses you is her enjoyment of the game. She can fire up her t4eammates with her enthusiasm, which hopefully remains with her throughout her career.

Madison was the top hitter for the Virginia Juniors 14 team. She also lights up the court with her enthusiasm, but unlike

she usually finishes up a rally. A six rotation player with an awareness of the court.
She made the Oakton varsity roster and is tied for the team lead in kills. Her six rotation play stands out as she also leads the team in digs and serve receive. As a frosh she still needs some work to enhance her game. While she does lead the team in kills she also leads the team in hitting errors. This is not unusual for a frosh.
The struggles to play against older players are a reality in high school ball. As the season progresses her game will improve. There exists too much talent in her game not to succeed.

Last year was a tough year for Oakton. They finished fourth in their conference at 2-8. This year they welcome a new coach who will bring a new identity for the m. Madison has a good shot to fit in with that identity.
They carry some promising pieces with

for the left side.
You do not find a lot of frosh left sides with the skill sets that exist for Madison. She is a six rotation player who hits the ball well whether playing front row or back row. She also brings a lot of enthusiasm to the court. As a frosh that enthusiasm could remain a little restrained but get her in a comfort zone and it will explode.
Expect her to win a starting left side spot for the Cougars who will improve on their 2-8 record.

Madison stands out as one of the emotional leaders for Virginia Juniors. At the showcase she remained a little muted. Perhaps playing with new players kept her more focused. Other than Alaenah her other teammates were absent from this event. That did not stop her from hitting lasers through the defense.
Her six rotation play excels, especially as a hitter. She swings hard and gets good velocity on the ball when hitting from the back row. It would not surprise me to see her hitting left side for Oakton as a frosh. Like Alaenah, a couple inches more of growth would help her left side dominance.
Madison will also play for Virginia Juniors at the Junior Nationals in Dallas playing in the USA Division. The competition will definitely bring a challenge to her game.

Madison is the more consistent of the Virginia Juniors hitters. She also consistently plays six rotations, becoming part of the offense when hitting in the back row. Her passing and defensive play also pass muster for a back row player.
She brings unbridled enthusiasm to the court. Last year Oakton had a down season after losing both of their left sides. It would not surprise me to see her make an immediate impact for the Cougars this coming season.

Madison is the more consistent left side hitter for the Virginia Juniors 14 team. She also acts as their emotional leader on the court. When things are going well the momentum rises high. Madison plays six rotations and provides offense hitting in the back row.
It would not surprise me to see her start for Oakton next year as a frosh. She is one of many players registered for the Prep Dig frosh showcase on June 7. While she already impacts the game on the court she could become even better as she gains more experience.
Virginia Juniors will play in the USA Division at the USAV Junior Nationals in Dallas.

I first noticed her at National Harbor when Juniors won the 14 Division. She was the top offensive performer. Her approach and swing are a little more consistent than Alaenah. At times, when things are not going well her swing becomes short and she fails to complete her arm swing. As she matures, she will learn just to bang it or work on a roll shot.
An excellent back row player who already has the ability to hit the ball with power behind the three meter line. She passes well and moves quickly to the ball in the back row.
Madison clearly is the emotional leader on this team. She is just one of three Oakton players on this list.

Madison provides the bulk of the offense for Juniors. She hits from both the front row and the back row. When struggling she gets a bit incomplete in her swing and does not follow through, which usually results in the ball flying out. Her counterpart on the left side

still lacks consistency but has the potential to provide more power. The two combine for a powerful threat.
Madison also plays the game with a ton of emotion. The team rallies around her enthusiasm.
It would not surprise me to see her make the varsity at Oakton her frosh season.
