The Waukee area tends to bring its best distributors to our Des Moines showcases. We were fortunate to have Munkvold in this group for a repeat appearance on the Prep Dig Circuit. Her last stop was at February’s Prep Dig Clash, where Munkvold guided her squad to a semifinal appearance in the 16s division. Sunday’s outing elevated her stock heading into Year 3 with the Warriors.

She found defensive matchups, moved the ball around, and gave her hitters chances to produce throughout the game. Elsa Munkvold Elsa Munkvold 5'6" | S/RS Waukee | 2028 State IA already shows advanced tempo awareness for her age. She delivers a clean, consistent release and keeps the ball in rhythm, allowing hitters to stay aggressive in system. She squares her shoulders well and maintains balance even when pulled off the net, which speaks to her body control and discipline.

Munkvold is comfortable running quick tempo through the middle and shows confidence stretching the ball to the pins in transition. She communicates early and manages pace with composure in tight stretches. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Standing out for a sift touch and precision on her offerings, Munkvold is a setter with an up arrow. Trained in two outstanding programs on the club and prep levels, she is technically sound and consistently effective. Munkvold proved herself again at the Prep Dig Iowa Midwest Live Showcase in late May. She displayed a keen sense for where her hitters want the ball located even though there was little previous experience playing together. Athletic with quickness around the court, Munkvold has plenty of room to go before she reaches her potential. And she has three more years of high school to get there.
