I could not have been more impressed with the setters in the 16s and 17s/18s divisions at the Madness in Miltown tournament. They ran the show, and watching how smart and strategic they were was so fun. Let's take a look at some of the highly talented setters.    Veronica was quick and savvy throughout the event. She ran a fast-tempo offense and kept all of her hitters moving at a quick clip. Her quick touch on the ball made it nearly impossible for opposing blockers to read her next move. Veronica was gritty, aggressive, and always seeking her team's next point.     Natalie was the other setter for [program_tooltip program_id='431926' first='Central' last='Illinois Elite'] 18 Red. She is committed to Indiana Tech. Her volleyball IQ and court vision set her apart, and she never misses a beat. She keeps every hitter involved and seems to learn her opponent's weaknesses throughout a match. Natalie finds ways to control the chaos of the game while setting a very fast pace.     Abby absolutely ran the show for her team. Her endurance throughout the weekend was so impressive. She was all over the court, running plays, placing the ball precisely, and digging deep defensively. Abby was a natural leader who never missed a beat. She was one of the top setters in the 17s/18s division and always kept her team primed for the next play.     Meg was an absolute gamer at the Madness in Miltown tournament. Her court vision was next level, always knowing who to push her sets to and when. She wasn't afraid to be aggressive and toss over a dump to throw opponents out of system.     Kaylie was an unstoppable force - leading her team through multiple upsets to secure the championship! On the road to the big W, Infinity did not drop a single set, and Kaylie was one of the key leaders. She kept every hitter involved and pushed a fast tempo throughout every match. Kaylie is a physical yet balanced athlete who can put up a massive block, rip an ace serve, and then dish out a soft-touch finesse set, all within a few points.     Iris was a gamer at the Madness in Miltown tournament. She was relentless in everything she did, including her defensive play, decision-making, and execution. Iris kept the ball moving and worked hard to out-pace opponents. She impressed me with her ability to push the ball pin to pin from nearly anywhere on the court.     Lydia is a highly talented setter who flies a bit under the radar. She has some of the cleanest setting form on the court and executes with quick precision. Lydia exploded onto my radar with her performance at state this past fall and has only continued to impress. Her leadership and energy at Madness in Miltown were awesome to see.     Mollie was a smart and savvy leader for her Wisconsin Attack team. Her natural leadership and ability to run the offense kept her team battling through competitive matches. Mollie showed her competitiveness in every single set and helped lead her team to a 4-2 weekend.     Taylor exploded onto my radar at the Madness in Miltown tournament. She has a soft touch on the ball and great placement, no matter if she receives a perfect pass or is on the move. Taylor is a well-rounded player who was a leader and energizer on the court for Eclipse.     Addie brought so much grit to the court. She was always working to earn the next point. Her fundamentals were solid, and she was confident in finding her hitters. Addie had the perfect balance of physical play, leadership, and toughness that is necessary to be a top-tier setter.     Kinzie first caught my eye at the Madness in Miltown tournament because of her high-level communication. She worked with and for her team on every point. Her intangibles were invaluable throughout the tournament. Couple that with her clean and competitive play, and Kinzie was an impact player on every point.     Anna did a fantastic job running the offense for the Penguins. She was confident and savvy with her sets. Anna is a leader on the court for her team. She knows when to be aggressive with her decisions and when to utilize a safer option. Anna impressed me with her great connection with each of her hitters and her ability to run the offense like a well-oiled machine.     Chloe was so impressive setting opposite of Anna for Penguins. She connected seamlessly with her middles and used them as much as possible, even when she was a bit off the net. She also had a highly competitive serve and was typically behind the service line for several points every time she rotated into the game.     Peyton had to be one of the most unique setters I saw play at the Madness in Miltown tournament. She dominated as a setter in the back row, and as soon as she rotated into the front row, she played offense as a middle. The fact that she could take on (arguably) two of the toughest positions in the sport and play them both consistently shows just how much grit and athleticism she has.     Jessica was the epitome of efficiency for SMV 16-2 Silver at Madness in Miltown. She had great form, solid footwork, and quick speed and decision-making. She put tempo on her sets without out-pacing her hitters and had a good connection with her teammates on the court. Jessica checked every box for me as a setter and was an athlete who caught my eye several times throughout the weekend.     Kenley was an aggressive and confident setter for Southshore Slam 16 National. She was a key leader for her team, who won the championship of the 16s division. Kenley is as gritty as they come and absolutely relentless on every point. She is there to win with her team and she will do everything in her power as a leader and setter to make it happen. Her quick touch and massive vertical helped her keep tight balls on her side, drawing opposing blockers and giving her hitters one-on-one opportunities.     Kaylie is a setter who clearly has a lot of game experience. She simply has the touch and confidence to help control the chaos of the game. Kayle could find her hitters consistently, even on the move, and never missed a beat.
