Spirit 16-1 finished 0-3 on day one but don’t let that record overshadow how well this team competes. They have some good pieces throughout their rotation including Hotz, their primary setter. There is a quality about her movement around the court the establishes a lot of trust in what she will do with the second touch as she gets to the ball quickly to contact in rhythm to put up a good ball. Expect this team to sustain their competitiveness throughout the tournament and get a look at them and the solid contributions they get from multiple prospects.

Hotz showed her mettle as a setter during the high school season leading a young Huron team that should enter the fall 2026 season with high expectations. A core group of current sophomores will return, all of whom played a significant position role as three of them earned 1st team all-league honors in the Sandusky Bay, including Hotz as she guided the offense with her distribution. She also contributed with her defense at the net with over 300 total digs. Her Spirit club team includes some of her Huron teammates along with some other top tier 2028 talent, meaning she will be challenged and measured well at all events given the competition they’ll see going forward with some big qualifying events ahead.

Hotz is their floor leader and the guide to this offense that has high potential for point scoring volume in each rotation. She is precise in her location that starts with her athleticism, efficient pursuit of the ball, and high hand touch and extension. Coming off a solid fall high school season with Huron, this added competitive experience, combined with multiple Huron teammates on this roster, make for a great combination towards their success over the next several months.

Hotz continues to emerge as a high potential setter in this 2028 class. She guided her Huron team to some big success on her way to earning a DV all-Ohio third team selection. Huron was 21-6 overall and atop their league standings in the Sandusky Bay as their offense featured a couple of top arms in this 2028 class. Hotz averaged 9.4 a/s as her 867 total assists have landed her at just shy of 1,500 dimes before her junior season next year. Defensively, she made a bigger impact in 2025 overall with a career best 11.5 d/m.

Another key member to that high performing Spirt VC 15U team over the past club cycle, Hotz was a major factor for Huron and their high success in 2025. Their 21-6 record overall was an upgrade from 2024 (14-10) as Hotz controlled their offense with 867 total assists on the season. She was also a big factor on defense with 11.5 d/m. She has continued to hone her skills in her movement, location, tempo, and decision-making that allowed her Huron fellow sophomore arms to find good opportunities to score, which helped her land on the DV 3rd team.

The 5’10 Hotz is a 1,000 career assists prospect as we are at the midpoint of her sophomore season for Huron. Averaging 9.1 a/s, she returned to the high school scene following a high quality club campaign that has benefitted her tools, decision-making, and offensive leadership. The Tigers are 10-3 overall and undefeated in Sandusky Bay league play. At 5’10 and with good athleticism, she pursues the second touch with good mechanics, which is mirrored in her defense as she has upgraded her contributions with 11.4 d/m.

Hotz arrived on the radar this club season as an athletic and skilled setter. She has good mechanics along with quickness and command of her offense that helped Spirit compete very well this season, including a third place finish at Summerfest. Her effort on the court in the setting role is a key cog for her team as she can ignite their play with good balance in offense and her own ability to play effectively in multiple facets of the game. She competes for Huron during the high school season.

Hotz is a setter prospect with a good foundation in her skills at this point in her development and performance. At 5’10, she has good length and uses her touch point well high above her head with good finish in her extension and touch. with over 580 total assists leading the Huron offense this past Fall, Hotz contributed 7.0 a/s along with seven digs per match. She is part of a young corps of athletes for Huron that will have that program competing well over the next few years.
