Expert Analysis
Anthony Jones | Prep Dig Scout
Kaitlyn is a high level libero who reads hitters well, takes smart angles in the back row, and consistently keeps her team in system with clean serve receive and controlled defensive touches. Her platform discipline and ability to handle pace already stand out against strong competition (plays 6A ball, and open all club season). She does a number of things well but one thing she does extremely well is she consistently reads hitters well, and positions herself effectively, which turns difficult defensive plays into quality opportunities for her team to keep them in system. The big thing that separates her from her peers in that regard is not only the passes but the way she moves. She has great lateral movement that gets her to a lot of locations that other liberos would be late too.
Beyond the technical skill set, she plays with the kind of energy and confidence that elevates everyone around her. She communicates constantly, covers a ton of court, and competes for every ball with a fearless mentality. These intangibles are not something that you can teach, but the top level players show it day in and day out and Kaitlyn does that every time she plays a game. As her overall strength and game experience continue to grow, she has the tools to become one of the more impactful defensive players in the 2029 class next season and is someone you need to know as a Sophomore.

named Top Performer at PrepDig’s Exposure Tour in Mesa, Arizona.
Kaitlyn brought nonstop hustle and calm control to the back row. She pursued every ball, passed consistently, and served with confidence. Her communication helped stabilize her group, and her ability to stay composed under pressure allowed teammates to trust her in tight moments.
Kaitlyn shared that serve receive and staying calm are her strongest assets, and she is currently working to expand her defensive range against faster paced attacks. Her steady presence and competitive reliability earned her Top Performer recognition.

Currently the top libero in the class of 2029, Kaitlyn is in a class above the rest when it comes to playing the position. If you are looking for someone who does everything a coach wants in a libero, look no further then Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn has what I would call strong defensive instincts and can see things before they are happening and get to a position with ease without leaving her feet. Her footwork is elite and add in her quick reaction time, you get someone who is always getting to the ball and keeping her team in system with high level touches. Serving her is a mistake and she continually passed over a 2.5 throughout the event to help keep the team in system. I don’t see many teams challenging the high level play of Kaitlyn by serving her as she passes so well and anticipates where the serve is going before it happens.
There were a lot of liberos at the event this last weekend, however Kaitlyn was by far the standout from her class and maybe for the whole event. She is someone who plays the game at a high level and routinely made hard plays look easy. She is the type of player I would take on my team in a heartbeat and someone we should all get to watch this club season.
