We're dipping into the memory bank once more.

One of our most recent features highlighted various Nebraska showcase alumni who reappeared on our entry list for the Nebraska Exposure Tour. Of course, we've also relived a bevy of state tournament highlights, too. Why not blend the two themes?

The state tournament offered a chance to catch up with several can't-miss stars from past showcase outings. We've been so fortunate to have these extraordinary athletes on the Prep Dig Circuit over the years.

DeJonge entered the Prep Dig Circuit spotlight during the dawn of her prep career, and her development since then has been something to behold. She took a big step forward in 2025 while shouldering a six-rotation outside hitter role with South Central NE 17 Black. That squad defied the odds en route to a GJNC berth, and DeJonge carried that momentum into her swan song season with Adams Central. She logged 16 kills and 17 digs in the team's quarterfinal duel against Milford, highlighting DeJonge's do-everything influence around the dial.

We have vivid memories of Eilenstine's showcase outing, especially because it gave us our first look at her rocket arm and natural explosiveness. She joined us two years ago as an incoming freshman and has grown into an upperclassman leader for Elkhorn South. Eilenstine matched up well against second-seeded Millard South, producing ten kills and handful of clutch digs in the quarterfinal showdown. Continuity will be a big plus for the Storm in 2026, and Eilenstine paves the way for the rising senior class.

Omaha Concordia has given us plenty of recent showcase standouts to discuss. Samuelson has done some of her best work on the Prep Dig Circuit, and it translated to the prep side in a big way this fall. The Mustangs broke into the Class C1 semifinals behind Samuelson's impenetrable block and unwavering hustle in transition. This imposing middle blocker produced five blocks against Holdrege and will add a few more to her ledger next season.

Millard South's historic 2025 season was impressive enough, but it's even more notable to see a sophomore near the top of the team's scoring charts. Jacobson's extaordinary range makes her a force on either pin, so her positional designation will be worth following throughout her career. She took the bulk of the Patriots' swings against Papio South and wasn't afraid to challenge a physical Titan block at the net. That fearless attitude will serve Jacobson well as she becomes a trendsetter for next year's new-look Millard South team.

This summer's Nebraska Freshman Showcase introduced us to some athletes who are already thriving at Nebraska's highest level. O'Connell earned a major accolade as our Avoli Committed Athlete from the event, but that was just the start of O'Connell's ascent. She joined the Omaha Marian lineup and helped the team to the tournament with her electric pin attacking. A double-digit kill performance against Omaha Westside has continued the positive trend heading into 2026.

We had sky-high expectations for Ramsey heading into July's Freshman Showcase. She delivered on the hype with her tireless effort and steady platform in the passing pattern. Ramsey then broke into the regular rotation at Norris, one of the state's most notorious ball control juggernauts. No matter which zone Ramsey anchored, she brought tremendous value en route to Norris' second-straight Class B title.

Let's complete the Freshman Showcase trio. Green was identified as a top performer after her six-rotation prowess was put on display in La Vista. The Lincoln Lutheran standout elevates well on the pin, making her an ideal choice for out-of-system situations. However, Green has also proven to be a defensive juggernaut who has a knack for picking up balls outside her midline. She led the Warriors with 16 digs in the quarterfinal slugfest with Malcolm, and this first-year prep athlete is just getting started.
