We're rolling along with our 2026 Club Team Preview series here on Prep Dig Iowa. The goal is highlighting as many teams as possible before we get the season underway next month. Then we'll shift to scouting reports and roundups from real matches.

The preseason process works best when directors get us rosters or point us to where they're posted on line. Requests for those are out. If you did not receive one (sometimes our contact information is outdated), you can send them to RobHoweHN@gmail.com.

PowerPlex 16 Brogean enjoyed a successful 2025 season, including a second-place finish at the Iowa Regional and a trip to the USAV National Tournament in Dallas. There, it finished fifth out of 64 teams in the American Division.

Most of the roster returns for PowerPlex 17 Brogean. It's a team capable of greater heights than a year ago, and that's saying something.

The squad features a pair of powerful pins heading to Iowa State. Waukee Northwest juniors [player_tooltip player_id='490013' first='Logan' last='Vogt'] and [player_tooltip player_id='493601' first='Piper' last='Ladwig'] helped the Wolves win their second Class 5A state championship in the last three years this fall. It was one of the most dominating performances from an Iowa team in recent memory.

Vogt shined through six rotations in earning first-team all-state honors. She hammered out a team-best 353 kills (.285) in 93 sets, and added 182 digs and 55.0 blocks.

A third Waukee Northwest star dots this 17 Brogean roster. Drake pledge [player_tooltip player_id='490011' first='Leah' last='Janulewicz'] came up as a libero but has expanded her game in impressive fashion during the last year or so. The junior was responsible for 223 kills (.337), 273 digs and 34.0 blocks during the title run.

[player_tooltip player_id='493973' first='Gwen' last='Farley'] returns to her role of running the team at setter. The Dallas Center-Grimes standout is coming off a junior season that saw her produce 1,020 assists, the most among players in Iowa's 4A and 5A Classes. The Valparaiso commitment added 233 digs, 62 kills and 19.0 blocks in helping the Mustangs reach the state tournament.

Another Dallas Center-Grimes standout returns to PowerPlex's top 17s team. Versatile front-rower [player_tooltip player_id='394331' first='Maggie' last='Leifker'] led the Mustangs with 284 kills (.355), and her 62.0 blocks tied for the team lead. She added 54 digs.

Indianola's [player_tooltip player_id='493609' first='Madison' last='Grover'] (Wayne State) is back from 16 Brogean. The junior produced a team-high 280 kills (.223) to go with 53.0 blocks and 75 digs.

For the first Jaguar team in school history to reach the state championship match, Rogers contributed 81 kills and 37.0 blocks for a senior-dominated squad.

A pair of newcomers add firepower to the PowerPlex lineup.

[player_tooltip player_id='500340' first='Kaylie' last='Klein'], a Santa Clara commitment, earned third-team all-state laurels in helping Dowling Catholic reach the state tournament. She was responsible for 165 kills, 160 digs and 24.0 blocks in 86 sets.
