Minnesota State will be getting another PowerPlex athlete in Maggie Leifker Maggie Leifker 5'11" | MB/RS Dallas Center-Grimes | 2027 State IA .  They will be bringing in 2026 graduate in setter Kaelyn Wieland who had a successful career at WDM Valley and Plex.  Leifker is coming off a state tournament appearance for Dallas Center-Grimes.  She is part of the PowerPlex 17 Brogean team who has claimed a 17 Open bid, being one of the top 48 teams in the country to go head to head at USAV Nationals. 

Leifker is a player that finds a way to positively impact her team, whether that be in high school or club competition. Part of why she can do that is her versatility and athleticism. No matter where she’s needed along the front row, Leifker delivers. A notable vertical leap aids her in attacking from any position, including when she’s behind the line. Jumping ability and timing allow her to defend well in the front row. Leifker has been a key contributor on strong teams for years, this season playing a key role in Dallas Center-Grimes reaching the state tournament for the first time since 2020. She produced 254 kills (.355) and 62.0 blocks in 100 sets this fall.

Leifker put together a solid sophomore season in 2024 with 277 kills, 109 digs and 46.0 blocks. She’s followed up that impressive performance by taking a step forward this club campaign. On a loaded PowerPlex roster this season, she helped hold it down in the middle of the front row. Leifker also offered versatility by sliding out to the opposite pin and getting it done. An experienced junior this coming season, expect Leifker to impact matches regularly.
