Lexington Open Day One Electrifiers Morning Session

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Teams wearing the [program_tooltip program_id='510734' first='Lexington' last='United'] and FOCUS Volleyball Club uniforms had great first days of the Lexington Open at the Rupp Arena and Central Bank Center in downtown Lexington.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 18 Elite, 17 Elite and 77 Elite teams from [program_tooltip program_id='510734' first='Lexington' last='United'] finished 3-0 on the first day along with 17 Todd and 18 Christy FOCUS teams. The sixth undefeated team was the Greater Cincinnati Volleyball Club 18 Shafer team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first games start at 8 a.m. on Sunday with the championship game taking place at Noon. The final games then take place at 2 p.m. in this division. Lowe embraced the challenge trying to improve a number of facets of her game. Lowe made solid passes and does a great job painting the back line when her setter hits her at the top of her peak. Lowe is not afraid to challenge hitters at the net with her reach. She showed a lot of strength on ones. She puts down overpassed balls with authority and got her hands on a lot of balls defensively. She takes sound swings to different parts of the court. Slayback uses her off (left) hand to tip balls to open parts of the court. She stepped in and made plays at all six spots on the court. Described by club and high school teammates as mentally tough, energetic and determined by club and high school teammates, Gossett has a good wrist snap to put a lot of power into balls. Gossett said it's great to be back playing with the old club teammates. She moves her feet well, but plants at the right times to make crisp passes. Davis produces from all six spots on the court. She is a sound passer and server. Davis needs some work on her accuracy, but that should come with more reps during the club season. Davis said players need to be aggressive on the court.
