<p>Enough came out this season the club decided to add another traveling team in this age group. These three teams have players that were big contributors last fall and more that will this fall.</p>

<p><strong>Typhoon 3.1</strong></p>

<p>Four players from Newport Central Catholic grace this roster. Three played on varsity this year and helped the Thoroughbreds win 19 games in a season for the first time since 2017 this past fall. Three more come from state power Notre Dame.</p>

<p>Sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='776882' first='Kolbey' last='Kohrs'] and [player_tooltip player_id='512719' first='Charlotte' last='Stevie'] split time as setters for NewCath in the fall. Kohrs is versatile, but will set and play defensive specialist for this team. She did take some swings for the Thoroughbreds in the fall recording 105 kills. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='816320' first='Maddie' last='Sandfoss'] gives the team options at middle and the outside with sophomore Gianna Stacy doing the same.</p>

<p>Notre Dame sophomore Leah Myers starts things off with nice passes along with Mercy McAuley's Michaele Townsend and Scott sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='734852' first='Jacinda' last='Campbell']. Campbell also plays right side and Townsend also plays outside hitter. Notre Dame sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='776880' first='Noelle' last='Earls'] is back to play setter and outside hitter with Mariemont sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='785235' first='Annalise' last='Tully'] along with sophomore Ashtyn Dirks playing either outside or right side hitter.</p>

<p>Brooke Schnelle is the team's head coach. The team is 7-4 on the season after taking fifth out of 36 teams in the 16 Club Division of the Nike Classic. The next tournament is the Nike President's Day Classic in St. Louis on Feb. 14 to 16.</p>

<p>Bishop Brossart sophomore libero [player_tooltip player_id='587827' first='Grace' last='Frommeyer'] headlines this group after completing her second season starting with the Mustangs. Notre Dame sophomore Rylee Riddle is the other defensive specialist.</p>

<p>Notre Dame sophomore Amelia Dreier and Ryle sophomore Abigail Stropko with Ryle sophomore Kiylee Kemper playing defensive specialist and outside hitter. Beechwood sophomore Hailey Flaherty will also set or play outside hitter.</p>

Highlands sophomore Isla Green will play outside or right side hitter with Ryle sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='891333' first='Pyper' last='Sandman'] will play either middle and outside hitter. <p>Azia Ketron is the team's head coach. The team is 9-4 on the season finishing fifth out of 30 teams in the Early Bird Shootout and 11th out of 36 teams in the Nike Classic 16 Club Division. The team plays in the Nike River Rumble on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.</p>

<p>Lawrenceburg sophomore Tatum Disch starts things off with sound passes at libero. The setters are Lawrenceburg sophomore Zoe Roudebush and Harrison sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='880958' first='Carsyn' last='Easter']. Roudebush also plays outside hitter and Easter is also a defensive specialist. St. Henry sophomore Chloe Brannen and Beechwood sophomore Madison Meier play outside hitter and defensive specialist.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Stevie made the American Volleyball Coaches Association Phenom Watch List last year for a reason. She does an outstanding job putting her teammates in position to succeed executing a variety of long and short sets in stride. Stevie also surprises defenses with setter dumps. Stevie's versatility shows with her precise passes and spinning serves to different parts of the court. Stevie can land aces on sound players. Stevie had 381 assists, 135 digs and 77 aces in the fall, helping NewCath win 19 games for the first time since 2017.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Earls (pictured) has taken a lot of steps forward with more precision on her sets so far during club season. Earls sets he feet well then makes quick decisions trying to involve a minimum of three hitters so defenses can't key on one player. Earls does a variety of sets including back sets. Earls also delivers sound spinning serves.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Sandman is showing she can make plays all over the court. Sandman smacks ones and gap shots to different parts of the court and times her blocks well. Sandman forms walls around balls on crosses to make solid passes. Sandman will improve each time on the court with her work ethic.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Easter can produce in all facets of the game. Easter makes the simple passes then jumps right into her attack position to take big rips on balls. Easter runs a smooth offense involving a number of hitters. Easter also mixes up serving speeds well to produce a number of aces. Easter will continue to fine tune her skills throughout the club season.</p>
