The Mead Panthers will miss the outside hitter’s power and consistency next season. She played the middle and the right side early on, but by her junior season cemented her place on the outside with solid passing. The attacking part of her game has always been a strength, and her velocity and range have improved along with her physicality over the past two seasons.

The big hammer from the North side of Spokane, Moeller led the Mead Panthers back to state and a second-place finish this year. Every year the responsibilities for Moeller grew larger on the court, and she was able to excel in a leadership role for a young team. She puts up a great block and could easily play either pin position for Western Washington.

Mead rode their senior outside hitter all the way to a second place trophy. In the title game serve receive issues overall kept the Panthers somewhat one-dimensional, and Lakeside was able to load up against the strong armed Western Washington commit. Moeller still brought the heat just as she did all season, and showed a nice off speed game that has grown throughout her high school and club career. Her defensive intensity is always top notch, and this year she showed the serve receive, passing and serve game needed to be a six rotation mainstay. The Panthers expect a talented group of upperclassmen to lead a state run again next season, setter Brielle Wilson, libero Olivia Paul and middle Ava Durgan will all return as starters and all-league performers in 2023.

Moeller is a Western Washington commit and has upped her game in her senior season. Mead lost a large contingent of seniors from the state championship team a year ago and needed someone to step into the role of leader and main offensive weapon. The Panthers have received all that and more from the 6’1 outside, Moeller has passed well in serve receive, puts up a big block, and has refined off-speed shots to mix in with her heavy arm swing. Mead is strong in the middle as well, and juniors Brielle Wilson at setter and Olivia Paul at libero both have stepped into starting full-time roles and excelled. Could a match-up with rival Mt. Spokane be looming in the semi-finals?
